I've completed marking up my physical copy and have begun transferring the fixes to the digital realm. There are no major plot changes or updates yet, just grammar and clarity updates so far. I'm a little happier with it than I originally was and I thank those who have dropped by to have a read.

I see why you guys get editors... this is taking forever. ;) Every page is pretty heavily marked up, and I'm only about 50 (print) pages in. So I have quite a way to go. I don't intend to update the site until I'm done the first pass. But it is nice to hold the print novel in my hands. :)

Still tempted by the sequels... there's a lot of potential there. Not to mention the chance to redeem some missed opportunities. ;)

I finished the sort-of last chapter tonight, and though I still need to re-read it I think I'm happy with it, so watch for that in the next day or so. It technically ends the story although there's still a fair bit I want to fill in in the not-quite-an-epilog-but-I'm-going-to-call-it-that-anyway that comes after. But yeah...

The redo of the next chapter of Night Reigns worked fairly well, I've got it done. I just need a chance to review it and will post it tomorrow or the next day. With the break from it I got, it didn't actually read as bad as I originally thought, but the change in direction was worth it. Anyway, you have no idea what I'm talking about. TLDR next chapter in a day or two. ;)

... for hobby time anyway. I'm in the middle of a move at the moment and it's been hard to get quiet time to write when I really should be unpacking, cleaning, changing addresses, etc. I previously noted I was unhappy with the Celestia chapter and I've figured out how to fix it, now I just need to get a chance to actually sit down and DO so.

I’ve gotten a good ways into the next chapter where we see Celestia getting to work... having a little trouble with making it /interesting/, though. It’s very mechanical feeling - “need to do this”, “does it”. Hmm. I’ll keep hammering on it. it’s close to the end and I might just have to let it go until I can read start to finish again...

Definitely feeling like the last chapters are solidifying in my mind though. It’s good to see the end of the journey.

I thought I'd left the last chapter with good momentum, but literally the very next day I was grounded with some new strain of Martian Death Flu. (As Dave Barry notes: "the kind that makes you wish the electric blanket had a higher setting labelled 'electrocution'", or something like that.) I expected to be down for a day or two and was unable to do all but the most basic survival for 12 full days.

That was a lot of fun! And despite being semi-social, I got 3 pages written. I guess since my average is about 5, I'm halfway there. ;)

Whoo, got my first unsolicited downvote! All hopes of ever breaking 10k again are gone forever!

Anyway, next chapter is written, I was just delaying it since I wasn't thrilled with it yet and posting like that has always led to the negativity. (Funny how those 11 downs weigh more heavily on my mind than the 203 ups... that's kind of a disservice to the uppers, isn't it?)
