A thousand years ago, Princess Luna broke under the strain of her loneliness. Embittered and emboldened, she traveled away from Canterlot to find the power she needed to challenge and defeat her sister in a battle for the throne.

This is a poetic retelling of the story of Nightmare Moon, heavily inspired by The Metamorphoses, "Horatius at the Bridge", and Paradise Lost. I hope you enjoy!

After one of her eccentric practice sessions, Rolling Thunder decides to hang out in Ponyville just a bit longer. As she's walking and musing on what to do, a gray mare falls out of the sky and crashes into her world.

Long before Flash Magnus met the Pillars, he served in the Cloudsdale Royal Legion. He is well-remembered in Equestrian folklore due to his encounter with the dragons, but he performed other feats. While smaller, less bombastic acts of good are often overlooked, they are very important, and one is recorded here.

Twilight Velvet doesn't get to see her daughter much, so she's ecstatic when she's invited to Ponyville during a school holiday. While there, she runs into Mistmane, one of the fabled heroes she's heard so much about. Velvet was expecting an intimidating presence, full of splendor and awe-inspiring, but finds herself feeling a bit differently.

Rainbow knows she'll learn from this experience, but she might learn more than she expects.

These stories were written for Quills and Sofas speedwriting competitions, but didn't get a full edit. They were written in 1 hour and 15 minutes unless they are marked as Panic Fictions, in which case they were written in 45 minutes.

The stories span a variety of genres and topics. The only edits made after were quick sweeps for spelling, so these are either entirely or almost entirely the stories as submitted.

Shortly after the banishment of Nightmare Moon, the Equestrian Committee system came into place. These committees aimed to help Princess Celestia keep the growing nation under control without her sister's help, but they actually gave rise to the noble houses, groups of ponies who worked to keep power amongst themselves. When a young and idealistic stallion is thrust into leadership, he must learn to stay true to himself...or devolve into the corruption he wished to erase.
