Putting it off

I had a whole month to finish my work,
Yet I put it off, I didn't even start!
This is gonna hurt my life like a dirk,
Stabbing through my skin and into my heart.

I'm such a fool, not starting my project.
If I don't do it, my boss will fire me,
No matter how much I plead and object!
I'm in a tight spot and I cannot flee!

My memory, at times, can be hazy.
I distract myself, I forget what's due!

Tomorrow

At the end of the day, I let my mind wander,
Thinking about what secrets tomorrow could hold.
"What will happen next?" is a question I ponder.
Will my fate be a delight or will it be cold?

Exploring the next day, it can be quite a fright!
For fate tends to be mischievous and fickle.
Tomorrow may ensure that my future is bright,
Or it can put me in a terrible pickle!

Is it possible to trust fate? How should I know?

You say it's a crime,
Which I hear all of the time,
Yet I could say the same about you!

Escape

When the day is full of sadness and strife,
Under the night sky that's as black as coal,
I escape from the problems of my life,
By calming my mind with an evening stroll.

Even when the day is full of dismay,
When all happiness goes out like a light,
I know I can keep my feelings at bay,
By taking a walk in the dead of night.

The world can be cruel and heartless to me,
Things often happen that I don't deserve.

Purpose

I wish I could accomplish something great in life,
Yet my lack of talent constantly holds me back.
The fact that I am nothing hurts me like a knife,
I am envious of those who have skills I lack.

I am not an engineer, I can't build or fix.
I'm such a loser, all I can do is doodle.
I just sit by myself, munching on some Chex Mix,
Drawing pictures of ponies, swords, and maybe poodles.
