When the day is full of sadness and strife,
Under the night sky that's as black as coal,
I escape from the problems of my life,
By calming my mind with an evening stroll.
Even when the day is full of dismay,
When all happiness goes out like a light,
I know I can keep my feelings at bay,
By taking a walk in the dead of night.
The world can be cruel and heartless to me,
Things often happen that I don't deserve.
When big, scary problems chase me up trees,
Strolling through the night helps to calm my nerves.
When a day in my life turns out sour,
I walk away from it at a late hour.
