Hollow Shades is a town rich in its history of ghost sightings and supernatural occurrences, even if most of them aren't real. There is one tale though that's as old as the town itself, and the Hunter Colts, Willow and Ringabel, are about to find out that it's more than just a story.

Chrysalis and her swarm have suffered through much in the last few years. Starving to the point of desperation has pushed them to the brink. But now something far worse than hunger has begun to fester in their caves. A mysterious fungus that infests her subjects brains and drives them mad, is now destroying the already crippled race. With few options remaining, Chrysalis must decide if her pride is worth the lives of her children. She can only hope her enemies would be merciful to them.

After an incident known by both species as "The Rift", Human and Pony kind took their first steps in establishing relations with another civilization separated by both time and space. But five years later, when free travel between worlds is finally permitted, the questions are still asked: What's going to happen now? Will our beliefs be changed? Our politics? How do we deal with ponies in a legal sense? And what of our scientific and ecological status?
