No matter how far one heads down the path of make-believe, one must never lose sight of reality.

I'm drawing a blank for a title, so you get this · 6:15pm Jan 7th, 2013

I've been spending a bit of my time reading J. B. Kaufman's "The Fairest One of All: The Making of Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". This may come as a surprise, but I actually like the film a lot. It's not with problems; the intro is incredibly slow to the point of being outright boring (it doesn't pick up until we get to the dwarfs' (not dwarves', Tolkienites) house, and then not again till they finally meet Snow White

I just walked away from watching the new Three Musketeers movie with my family (as I told them, if I lost interest, I was leaving). The film starts out as something that seems more in place with Assassin's Creed than anything from an old adaptation from the 30's I saw probably a decade ago (I've never read the book, and won't unless I magically learn French overnight). Than everyone is a caricature (fussy king obsessed with fashion, the captain of the guard is downright irredeemable) and

I just finished my first semester of grad school, so I believe it's time for the traditional grad school chant.

"Schools out, schools out.
Teacher let the monkeys out.
One was jailed.
One prevailed.
Both asked god,
'How have I failed.' "

Anyway, this means I've got more time to read more fanficts (unless work gets on my butt too much).

That place is my baby, and I would prostitute myself for it. · 6:50pm Dec 9th, 2012

Tis the season. Which means amongst other things, bad Christmas Specials, annoying levels of sentimentality, relatives being frustrating, the terror of the Hallmark Channel, and long hours at work.

In short, BAH Humbug.

Carols are pretty darn catchy, I'll admit.

There are a couple of birthdays that occurred last week worth mentioning.

No (animated) cartoons this week (I wouldn't look for them until I'm done with this semester), but I still have a few things to write about.

Breaks over already · 6:50pm Nov 25th, 2012

One particular fond memory I have of Thanksgiving would occur “On the Day after Thanksgiving”, because Cartoon Network would show four Looney Tune Movies (though I don’t think we got past even one) that were made up of the older cartoons with a few new-scenes. I’m not a fan of those movies these days, but back then I was Looney Tune nut so it didn’t matter. The real fun came when my Grandpa would watch and start referring to the characters by names of family members (you had to be there),

I’m taking a bit of a break from posting “good” cartoons to instead post cartoons that while funny suffer from one big flaw, the animation. Whether it’s pure apathy, lack of talent, or carelessness, nothing can bring a cartoon down faster than really bad animation. That doesn’t mean it can’t be enjoyable, it just means that it really isn’t that good. So below I've included a film that is an unsubtle mockery of all those horrors and uses it's ugliness to it's advantage. So, people of all
