Lighting Dash has been practicing for weeks for his final Flight Test. He wants to become Equestria's greatest flyer, but none of the teachers at Flight School can keep up with him. So, his parents reach out to a legendary mare for help. But what was supposed to be a simple overnight camping trip ends up becoming a wild ride of survival, and the young colt will discover just how much skill he truly has....

This story takes place in the Legacy universe, 50 years after the events of MLP:FIM Season 4.

The lizard-like Vectin race have conquered Equestria and enslaved the ponies to farm the bio-materials they use. One young mare with a natural talent with plants was forced to leave her family behind to work in a Vectin lab, discovering new ways to improve the growing process of the bio-pod plants. In exchange for better conditions for her family, Botanica lives alone without any pony contact. But one of the guards would rather be a grower himself, and an unusual friendship develops...

A short story I wrote for practice. The goal was to keep under 4000 words. This takes place a few years before the events of Legacy: The New Adventure, and about 50 years after events of the fourth season of MLP:FIM

It's been nearly 50 years since the Princesses reigned over Equestria. A land once filled with friendship and joy is now under control of a race of powerful lizard-like creatures. Only a small number of ponies manage to remain free, but for how long is anypony's guess.

Separated from his family, a young pony will begin a quest to free his people from slavery. But to do so he'll have to leave on the greatest journey in the history of Equestria....

Note: This is an alternate timeline that branched off during Season Four of the show, before the events of "Twilight's Kingdom".
