Surprises are interesting things. We love them, we hate them, we tolerate them. And yet, they awaken something within our hearts, that so many of us lost long ago. It is that element of wondore, the joy of something new and interesting. We look back on our childhoods, and we miss that most of all, I think. And in case of anyone wondering, this isn't a self-insert—not exactly, anyway. This story, it really wouldn't make a difference, because it goes far beyond the concept of a self-insert, into something else entirely.
