MLP G5: Movie Review · 2:28am Sep 25th, 2021

So I watched the newest pony movie on Netflix, and... wow. That was actually worse than I thought it was gonna be.

Yeah, spoiler alert, this is going to be a mostly negative review. I did not like the movie at all. I went in with fairly low expectations, predicting a 6 or so out of 10, but this movie was like a 3 or 4.

I'm sorry, I don't know what you want me to say :/

Quit sleeping on Centaurworld · 4:06pm Aug 28th, 2021

Seriously, go watch it. This show is surprisingly amazing, despite the terrible advertising. It’s like a combination of MLP, Rick and Morty, and Adventure Time; it’s full of genre-bending and deliberate tonal shifts, hopping back and forth between colourful kiddy fun you could show to a 5-year-old and dark topics like genocide, suicide, and war-induced PTSD. Oh, and it’s a musical. Expect 3–4 songs per episode.

Genre Fiction vs Literary Fiction · 12:56pm Jul 8th, 2021

This is a curious topic that popped into my head yesterday, so I thought I'd write about it. That topic is the supposed dichotomy between genre fiction and literary fiction. This is especially pertinent on a website dedicated to writing fiction, in which some authors may even have aspirations to be recognized as published writers. Pretty much anyone who's even remotely familiar with literature should know what I mean by genre or literary fiction, at least intuitively.

In which I wank the superiority of economics as the best social science · 9:56am Jun 2nd, 2021

I'm bored, so I decided to make a brief case for economics, namely why it's superior to the other social sciences—sociology, psychology, anthropology, political science, et cetera—by measure of rigour, income, objectivity/accuracy, and applicability. Perhaps I'm biased, but I think I can give pretty good reasons nevertheless.

Spiders n shit · 8:33am May 27th, 2021

There’s been an inexplicable increase of spiders in my apartment. In the past 2 days I’ve caught and killed 3 spiders, with the last one being a daddy long legs. The little bastard with its long ass legs was right next to my stove.

Where the literal FUCK are these spiders coming from?!?

Apropos of the Sinners – Update 15 · 7:16pm May 17th, 2021

Yeah, so... I don't know when I'm ever going to continue writing this story, let alone complete it. Aside from the fact that the scope of the plot has gotten too big and complex for my own good, the next arc is extremely difficult to pull off and will only work if done right due to how experimental and different it is. And frankly, I don't trust myself one bit to write it well. And I don't have any formal education in writing/storytelling, so it's not as if I know what I'm doing.

Attack on Titan is ruined · 4:07am Apr 8th, 2021

It pains me to say this because Attack on Titan is (or was, I should say) my favourite anime/manga of all time, but holy shit, that final chapter was GOT season 8 levels of bad. In fact it may just be worse.

Random Thoughts · 11:07pm Apr 1st, 2021

In my estimation there are about 4 tiers of fiction writers.

First, there's the writers who aren't good: whether they merely lack talent or experience, or are genuinely and hopelessly terrible, doesn't matter; I group them all together. This is the group that isn't worth reading for any reason whatsoever.

Big new story! · 11:24pm Mar 20th, 2021

I'm seriously considering putting Apropos of the Sinners on an indefinite hiatus, which would be a shame considering I'm already 180k+ words deep into that sucker. Why do I say this? I recently had a rush of inspiration, some 2 days ago, which triggered an insanely awesome idea for a new fic, and now I can't get it out of my head. I really want to write it, mainly because it may just be my best work ever. Of course, that's easy to say; the problem with writing stories is that they're
