Seriously, go watch it. This show is surprisingly amazing, despite the terrible advertising. It’s like a combination of MLP, Rick and Morty, and Adventure Time; it’s full of genre-bending and deliberate tonal shifts, hopping back and forth between colourful kiddy fun you could show to a 5-year-old and dark topics like genocide, suicide, and war-induced PTSD. Oh, and it’s a musical. Expect 3–4 songs per episode.
Some of the shit I saw legitimately creeped me out. But that was mitigated by some very well written comedy and more lighthearted scenes. I should also note that Meghan McCarthy is the lead writer/story editor, you know, the woman who wrote most of the important episodes in seasons 2–4 of MLP. Now do yourself a favour and go watch Centaurworld.
