For me, the main draw of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the characters. In the show, the main characters are given plenty of characterization by the many episodes that depict their personalities, skills, faults, and the triumph of their faults. There are two characters, however, that I feel were not given this proper treatment. They either suffer from a lack of characterization and flaws that humanize, or ponyize, them (Celestia), or they suffer just from a lack of screen time (Luna). The fact that MLP is a show geared towards kids also holds it back from showing more complex and darker themes of human nature. This is subjective, however, so you may feel differently. In any case, this is my attempt to expand on the MLP lore, to delve into more dark themes that the show simply cannot do, and mainly to show the events that impact Celestia and Luna's relationship before and after Luna's inevitable imprisonment.
