Octavia has made mistakes, everyone makes mistakes, but hers have driven away the one she loves. She intends to get her back anyway she can and she WILL succeed.

After her students' adventure through the magic mirror that ended with Twilight's coronation, Princess Celestia has pondered whether or not other places like this exist. She decides to do some research and experimentation and finds out that indeed there is. There is one and only one dimension she finds that is connected to her own. She intends to find out whether or not this place is safe, and it is up to Twilight Sparkle to solve this case.

Different decisions can change so many things about the future. How do you know what the right decision is? How do you know what you are doing is for the better? What if something so drastic happened that your whole life changed in an instant. You have less than five seconds to act, and you have no time to think about what you need to do. How are you supposed to make the right decision based on so little time? Even after it's happened, it's impossible to know what would have happened if you made a different one.

No matter what happens, you live with the consequences of your actions.

A new pony in Ponyville has everyone confused as to where he came from, he's a weird one all right, he frustrates the HAY out of Twilight Sparkle. He even makes Pinkie Pie seem sane half the time. But that's fine with him, optimism keeps his spirits up, even if his past isn't the best there's ever been. In fact his past is probably among the worst, but it doesn't keep him down.

Princess Celestia gives Twilight a quest, but this is different than the other missions the group has gone in. Twilight, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash visit a world they didn't even know still existed, and it's not as exciting as they'd hoped. They need to find a way out, quick, before something keeps them there forever.

After a fun day at Twilight's with Applejack, Rainbow learns something has terrible has happened, who's going to be the one that can keep her spirits up? Will it lead to something she wasn't expecting?
