996094 And that, I can totally understand. Also there's two other stories I highly suggest: One is called "Not Another Good Guy" by 8542Madness that gives the human protagonist a dark back-story (won't spoil as much as that), and the other is "You Do (Not) Belong", that gives a completely realistic take on the Human in Equestria genre.

993017 Well, opinions differ (fortunately). I'll just go with 'agree to disagree'.

I gave a few chapters of A Whole New World a read but it didn't really catch my interest. Not really a big fan of "7th Element" and human X pony stories; much less when combined.

991766 Well yeah, I can see your point. EFH is pretty cliche, but its one of those ones where its' tolerable on some levels, some of the humor's okay and it feels more like you're reading a screenplay for an actual movie version of it.

As for Wanderings, I liked the premise of expanding on some of the other regions in Equestria other than what we already know of. Most of it is mixed for me. Its basically you're typical road trip kind of story with a human and a phoenix.

But what about a story like A Whole New World by Canine, it has that typical "7th Element" cliche, but the way the story progresses, it feels very new and refreshing, the fact that the protagonist arrives there months before the events of the very first episode.

990588 Interesting suggestions. I would probably have a field day reviewing Equestria's First Human. Having read it myself I can say there is a lot wrong with it. The rewrite didn't really make it any better, either.

Nevertheless, I don't really have much to say about it that people haven't heard already. It's horribly cliche and a lot of things that happen doesn't really make any sense; the way he gets killed(?) and sent to Equestria by God(?), specifically. And the xenophobia of the ponies is just tiresome and exceedingly out of place, especially considering this apparently takes place after Bridle Gossip. (There's a review right there! :rainbowwild:)

I definitely won't do Wanderings either. Mostly because I can't stand the main character: truth be told, I loathe the whole series and (to some degree) the author.
Considering how BronyWriter (the author of Wanderings) is pretty far up there about his writing and how popular his work is I would just be passed off as a "troll" by him and his readers. Not really worth my time.
