I woke up this morning tired and ill. Last night I had begun coughing and was feeling miserable, so I went to bed early for a restless night. When I woke up, I began coughing so hard I doubled over in pain until the spell passed. My hands have been shaking, breathing is more difficult than it should be, my throat is raw, and my voice is nearly gone.

Just a little note mainly regarding why The Final Element hasn't been updated (again).

Firstly, I am a bit ill and haven't felt very well. Nothing major, but concentrating is very difficult right now.

Sorry everypony, there's no update tonight. I hit a wall in the form of writer's block concerning The Final Element.

I instead wrote an entirely new short story featuring the Cutie Mark Crusaders called "The Cutie Mark Master", which is currently in the queue for acceptance here on FiMFiction, as well as a simultaneous submission to Equestria Daily.

Whereas The Final Element might not suit EQD's audience, I think this new short story might be a better fit. Here's hoping!

Three chapters in one day?

Okay, I won't do that again any time soon - I promise.
Not much else to say here, the chapter pretty much speaks for itself.

This was another very difficult chapter to write. Not due to writer's block, but because I knew what was going to take place. As the story progresses, I'm going to have to deal with the consequences of knowing what happens ahead of time, and it will only get more difficult.

Hopefully, you all enjoy the chapter.

A shorter chapter this time, just under 2000 words.

A bit more bonding between James and the Apple Family.
Also a bit of something else, the first time since being in Equestria that James has actually been afraid of anything. What did those dreams mean, anyway?

This chapter marks a turning point in the story, and begins the process of dealing with darker plot twists and difficult emotional situations. Look for more serious situations to arise from now on dealing with a variety of issues.

I had a difficult time with this one. I found myself troubled with finding the right balance of story progression and character development here. Thankfully, early readers assure me I managed to pull it off, and one even stated it was his favorite chapter thus far.
