it seems like you're setting up for a longer storyline sometime in the future. if so, you definitely have my attention and admiration. if not... maybe you ought to consider it.

Complete? But why? This looks like such an interesting story with tons of ways to continue... this can't possibly be the end.

I would totally fav this story, how did the old race die?

Spoilers below. Do not read unless you've already read the story.
I get it. This mysterious being has be living alone for so long that he or she has figured out how to escape the loneliness: suicide. The being does not know how it will be done, but it will be completed in time.

So, does the disintegration of one of those books have a meaning to the story as well? I think so. Anyone can record their life's story all they can, but it is a vain attempt to remain. Death takes us all in every possible way. Or so my over-analysis says, and I as a Christian would disagree with that, but oh well.
