Agh I feel so bad for piper I would die if I was put in the same situation as he was. AND YOU TRICKED ME! I thought it was real for a second there and I was really confused xD
This was definitely worth the wait! Also, the "Respect the Chemistry" apron was a nice touch. Other than that, I've always liked how you portray the characters in this story. Not one has any 'copy-paste' vibe you sometimes get when authors try to juggle multiple POVs. The drama is building nicely, and may Celly have mercy on those rum stealers.
3329169 *Grins* if I remember right, I proposed marriage when I saw that in the draft, though the offer got rescinded after the crack about aging celebrities trying to stay relevant.
"Deal," She said, "But, you have to promise not to judge me based on my friends? They're all history majors so they're not the liveliest bunch." Vincent laughed. "Hey, fifty percent of my circle of friends are out of the closet drama majors." Effy's turn to laugh. Vincent found it relaxing to hear. "Should I be worried about you, Mr. Just Vincent?" She prosed, followed by a snarky giggle. "You know 'Birds of a feather' and all..." Vincent puffed his chest out. "I assure you," He said, grinning, "I am, and always have been, fascinated by the feminine form."
For what its worth; I love David Bowie and I could rant and rave for hours about how he's the definition of an artist and how he's transcended genres and survived decades for days. He looks better at 50+ than I do at 20+ and If I ever get the chance to ambush.... I mean, meet him, I'd buy him a Cosmarepolitan in a heartbeat.
Every dog has his day, and every sexually confused colt with a weakness for girlish looking and acting gay roommates will have some kind of karmic reward. I won't spoil it, but, in the end, Piper's gonna be a happy camper.
This is one of the most inspiring comments I've ever had (I swear that's not sarcasm.) I'm glad to see you're enjoying it so far. My aim as an author (I use that term loosely) is to keep pumping out enjoyable chapters as long as I have readers like you liking them.
Thank you. At the risk of sounding like the biggest self-obsessed egotist, I try really hard to give these little bastards a sense of 'life.'. Everyone from Sunny Side and Honey Drop, to Vincent and Scout, all have backstories, goals, ambitions and dare I say 'dreams'? As long as there's an audience for it, I'd like to tell their stories for as long as I can (You know, without going the way of 'Lost.' or 'Dexter' and turning it into a contrived stretch of imagination. I'd actually like this story to go out like Breaking Bad; Piper, dying of Cancer, confesses his love to White Mane after taking down a group of Homophobic Zebras with an M60. With his dying breath he mumbles "I've always loved you..." and it gets carried away on the breeze.)
3340370This is one of the most inspiring comments I've ever had Well that put a smile on my face. Thank you for saying that. I think it's mostly the environment the story takes place in that I like about this, don't know why. Guess I'm just attracted to stories about people in their prime and enjoying themselves. I also like "in-the-closet" stuff which is just too specific a topic to search up. I also enjoy the characters; White Mane, Piper, Vincent, and I guess Scout has his own charm. (I think I'm naturally put off by sophisticated types so I don't really like ... uh, those other two as much.) Also, just a quick question that popped into my head: Are any of these characters' traits and personalities based off of anyone you know, personally or otherwise?
A friendship hanging in the balance A play that could be grand or disastrous A colt who can't speak his feelings (Oh the dreaded friendzone) A bottle of rum lost (so thats why its always gone ) And a date that could be spoiled Where will the story go next?
I can't honestly say I know anyone like White Mane in real life. He's loads of fun to write for mostly because I just make it up as I go along. I sorta started off writing him as just this hyper-cliche look at gay stereotypes, but he's really grown on me.
Piper on the other hand is the me I was in high school. Fraught with emotions and feelings and not sure what to do or say about them.
Sunny Side and Honey Drop are gay-guardian angels. The kind of ponies that Piper and White Mane could be if they got together.
Scout is just a loser. He's loveable, but he tries way too hard to impress people. He's like the kid on the block who's older brother let him look at Playboys.
Vincent is just laid back. There's no one I know like him (Sadly) but he's loads of fun to write for anyway.
I FUCKING LOVE YOU AND YOUR WRITING SKILL. You have EPICALY entwined sensual and to die for clop and some of the best romance I've read mixed with the drama. Personally. I think if White Mane and Piper were cast, and in the actual thing Piper breaks scene and actually tells White Mane really how he loves him. White Mane reacts for real; Piper breaks scene and that and says like
Piper stepped forward out of the shadows, his face was little but motionless, and he was staring at his roommate in the dim light. "I... I've been doing a lot of thinking." He grumbled unintentionally, kicking his hoof gently at the stage with a huff glanced down. "And... And the thing is..." He frowned, looking up towards the other with stronger yearning than he could bear. '...Enough... I... I can't.' He whispered to himself, cursing below his breath. He shook his head, and his hair flicked over his face and he stepped forwards shaking his head side to side and then down to the other's hooves. "I have been doing a lot of thinking lately." He echoed, much louder than expected. Shuffles and huffs were heard, he could swear he could hear Ziggy's internal protesting from there. "And... And it's not just lately. I've been thinking for weeks..." He coughed. White Mane looked quizzical. "Uhm... You see the only thing I've been able to think about. All this time. Is you... I... I love you. White Mane. I love you." He bit down on his lip harshly, watching intently for any reaction from his roommate, his voice was dry yet held everything. "What...?" The feminine colt's jaw was slightly open, his weight balanced on his left side and one hoof was lifted gently off the ground as if he were to step forward. He was frozen. "I love you, I love everything about you. I tried to tell you, that night in the bar with that jerk, but I didn't. I couldn't..." He let out a deeper breath than he thought he could muster. "I know, that I never... I never say things at the right time. Surely not now." He waved his hoof at the audience, but his gaze never left the ocean blue eyes of his full attention. "But I love you." He stepped forward, only now drawing down his eyes to watch as his hooves gandered over the stage excitedly until White Mane was just a few extra steps away. "How... How do you expect me to respond to this...?" The smaller colt said, his voice shaky and so unlike him. It was clear he was attempting to stay in character, but it being so obvious that Piper wasn't, it was difficult. "How about..." Piper started, taking a small step forward. "You love me too?" He huffed. White Mane took a deep breath, the kind that made his chest shiver and unsteady. "How about..." Piper's hoof pressed onto his shoulder lightly. "Don't say it. I know... I know you should. Please don't." He rumbled, "Don't say you're going to leave. Whenever you're gone all I do is think about you. Look out for you in crowds. And I can't do that." He gulped, biting his lip again. "I've stayed quiet, but I love you. I. Love. You. I love the way you crawl into my bed at night when you get scared. I love the way you skip and jump when you get happy. I love it, all of it, all of you." He smiled, genuinely. White Mane shook his head and pushed back against Piper harshly, stepping back from it. "I'm leaving..." He grumbled as he looked away sheepishly. But Piper grabbed him again, pulling him close; ignoring the rosiness accompanying his cheeks. "Doesn't anything I've said mean anything to you?!" He cried desperately. Managing to accompany the actual lines.
White Mane sniffled. "I'm sorry..." He looked down, tears collecting at the edges of his eyes. Piper stepped back, letting go of the other and shaking his head away, looking down to the other side of the stage. "I'm sorry? I'm sorry?! Is that all you can say to me?" Piper stepped further, pacing clumsily. "That's..." White Mane shook his head, his white locks falling over his eyes. "That's not how this works." He could feel his eyes burning.
"Why...? Why not!?" Piper stomped his hoof triumphantly. "Why can't it?" He grumbled, unable to stand still. White Mane was stood in place still. "It should work like that. Wouldn't we be great together? Don't you think?" The other lowered his head, and started to step forward, slowly. His steps echoed, clanged due to his boots... Step... Step... Step... Piper met his, nose to nose. "You're even wearing those boots. Tell me you don't love me too." "Piper it's just--" "Tell me." White Mane huffed, tipping his head down so he could take a second from Piper's gaze. "I... I can't." Piper lifted his hoof to his roommate's shoulder, a slight but firm grip. "Why's that then? Tell me." "Because.... Because I love you too!" White Mane shouted, shutting his eyes and looking up. He near staggered back when the hoof on his shoulder held onto him tighter and suddenly he felt his lips pressed against a warm, soft, wet surface and he let out a whimper: knowing it instantly. The crowd erupted in cheers and cries, the clang of chairs as almost the whole audience stood and clapped loudly. White Mane tipped his head down, breaking the kiss and opening his eyes to see the other matching his movements. "I really do love you," Piper whispered, blushing brightly at how well their work had been received.
But yknow that's just my thoughts so feel free.... Oh- and if you make this amazing story end with a dying profession of love I will throw my computer in the river. Jus' sayin'. Don't.
Whoever this Ziggy chick is, I like her. Piper should hook up with her in a completely riveting and shocking twist that ends with a classic duel between Ziggy and White Mane involving the traditional glove slap and pistols at dawn.

It's this that made me realise that stories with nought but OC's may be worth reading.
I have no idea what I did but your welcome
I'll be dissapointed if Effy doesn't have a dick

3349119 Alright, thanks for taking the time to reply.
NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! NOT THE FRIEND ZONE!
I kept yelling at piper to get the hell outta there. I knew the auditions were going to be a problem. Why didn't he listen?
The next chapter will probably contain Vincent killing Scout, Singer, or both. Hopefully just Singer.

They took his rum. I think anything he does to them would be perfectly justifiable.
guess she hasn't met engineering students, lol.
