Sequels1

It's been 6 months now. My life is under my control, no longer a scripted story made real by the power of the Everfree. Unfortunately haunting dreams, a mystery illness, and the arrival of an unusual stranger prove the forest isn't done wit

A series of seemingly chance encounters between a burned out author from Manehatten and a disgraced pony from Baltimare on a train to Ponyville leads to a mystery with its heart in the Everfree Forest. Do the citizens of Ponyville know the secrets of the darkness there, or does a sinister presence have its hooves on their puppet-strings? When the sun goes down magic may not be enough to assure their safety. The only weapon and the only defense are one in the same: light.

An Alan Wake themed adaptation of the MLP FiM universe, loosely based on the events from the original AW game.

I'm surprised that this story don't get more attention. It might not be as good as Alan Wake, but it's still a good story.

Oh an update. Well, I'll be waiting to see what happen next :pinkiehappy:

This looks good, bookmarking for later use!

The reveal does feel underplayed, but I still like it. Was the intent to kind of foreshadow it so that it clicks in the reader's mind that Luna is, in fact, Shining Dawn? If so, then it's played properly, if a tad slowly. If you wanted it to feel more sudden, though, you showed your hand a bit early.

At any rate, I really am enjoying this adaptation of the Alan Wake universe and I look forward to seeing where you take this

3226710 I was afraid the foreshadowing made it too obvious that Luna was Shining Dawn. I hoped that at least Golden Prose being correct about the Shining Dawn stories bringing her and Mossy into existence caught folks off guard.

Going to read it now :), *dives in*

Great introduction, moving on :).

I wonder what she saw chasing her or something...

Tense time for Bookmark.

A cliffhanger! Damn you.

Great ending!

Great story, I just wish more persons would notice it. Maybe you could try to add it to groups?

3649060 Any group recommendations?

3649152 There, I added it to the only group I had that corresponded. Crossover with Alan Wake is the most oblivious one, but otherwise... Maybe you could look for some adventure group?

I can already feel the vibrant sense that I felt playing Alan Wake. You have done a great job of capturing the atmosphere, albeit the dialogue structure bothers me a pinch.

Seeing the story from the perspective of the manipulated character rather than the author casts a new light on the whole concept. But it does make me wonder, was that meeting and the implemented motivation for Mossy just another detail of Golden Prose's story? Most likely, but to what end?

A bittersweet ending, just like the game. Every story needs to find balance in its conclusion; it is not just the light you need.

Very well done story. A few "knicks" here and there in the spelling and grammar, but small and few enough I wasn't gonna bother pointing them out. The story really kept the feeling of Alan Wake and after having just read "Creeping Darkness" by Penstroke (again), it made it easy to see this story was quite a worth while read. Was interesting to see the story from the point of view that wasn't the author and you certainly captured it well. A favorite and like you've earned from me.

I also can't wait for this sequel you mentioned to be working on. Hopefully you can get it started as it does seem that this story needs one. For instance, how is Mossy and Bookmarks lives now afterwards? The end chapter almost makes it seem like he could get into a relationship with Vynil. I also get the feeling Luna would want to check in on them. This is all speculation of course and that's even if you do decided to create the sequel. Still, great story and I'm glad to have found it.

Okay, I feel compelled to read this. I love Alan Wake, and your work is the only other fic of any decent length that has views as poor as mine. I'll be leaving a comment per chapter. Not very frequently, knowing myself.

3354858 Most likely Hardtack Jack, you know how since he was taken.

So the Royal Guard is Agent Nightingale in this story or Deputy Ironbars?

Yeah I'm reading this, pretty interesting though.

Well that was awesome, that story need way more attention than it has now:moustache:
