ZoidbergIsBestPony

When Star Trek and Ponies collide, there can only be Q!

T

The assimilation of Equestria into the Borg Collective has begun, and it may already be too late to stop them. But Twilight Sparkle has a plan. She will contact the U.S.S. Enterprise and her captain, Jean-Luc Picard, and ask for their help. The only question is, how?

And now, the Borg may have just become armed with the most powerful weapon in the Universe. Even DisQord himself may be powerless to stop them!

Anywho now that I'm done reading time to weigh in... DAMN YOU FOR LEAVING THE MOTHER OF ALL CLIFF HANGERS! D: ... In all seriousness though, you've set the scene for a very awesome ride. Can't wait till the next chapter is out.

2906085

Muchos gracias mi amigo!
Arigato Gozaimasu!
Danke!
...
Sorry for the cliffhanger, I promise I won't do it every week. :pinkiecrazy:

And who downvoted already, :fluttercry:
They made Fluttershy cry!

There's at least one person on this site who goes through and just downvotes every story on the front page. I got one within 5 minutes or so of posting my new story yesterday.

2906178

Ooh! new Story? I shall have a peek! :raritystarry:

2906182 It's worlds apart from the other stuff I've put up here. I might even turn it into a full blown story too. Haven't decided that far yet though.

I've read the previous story and it was quite entertaining... I can't wait to see what happens here next! :pinkiehappy:

If it is too much, then I will trade for three bars,

Ah, the perils of post-scarcity.

In any case, looks like the ponies are up Shit Creek, and it adapted to their paddles. Definitely looking forward to more. This may even get me to get back to my own story of partially metallic lifeforms assimilating Equestria.

Piccard was right. With all their near-divine power, knowledge and arrogance, the Continuum are nothing more than a bunch of cowards afraid of any species (like ponies or humans) with the potential to ascend and kick their colective asses..

Glad this is getting continued.
Keep it up!

Also, I find that Friday and/or Saturday are my big reading days.

2909323

If you go bald later in life, you will probably never hear the end of it.

Still of all the TV-character referencing names, Jean-Luc's ain't half bad.
And if your parents were hippies, you could have been named Rainbow Tree!
:rainbowderp::fluttershbad:

Glad to have you and everyone on board!

Just read through the whole series in 4 hours, can't wait for more

2910961

Damn! That is some impressive speed reading skills.

Ah, so this is post season 3 Twilight, then. Neat!

2912439

The trick will be trying to explain how Discord was summoned back by Celestia in Season 3.
This will require some delicate surgery and a few lost Canon limbs :twilightoops:

Wait correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember The Federation ever having marines (corporal being an enlisted marine rank). I know that in Enterprise they had MACOs, but I wasn't aware that they existed in the TNG era. Also seems odd that a corporal would be an engineer on a Starfleet vessel. Sorry to play canon ball with you, but it kind of confused me.

signed the good dr.

2923955

And the first Canon ball strikes! :applecry:

I did not follow up on proper ranking order.
so it would appear I can choose from either: Petty Officer (non-comissioned) or Lieutenant Junior Grade (commissioned).

Your ball, your choice. Let me know what you think it should be and I will Make it So! :moustache:

2923955 In the game Star Trek Online, MACO still exists even in the 25th century, so it's lasted quite a long time, and just because they were not mentioned in TNG doesn't mean they didn't exist, they were just busy behind the scenes

2925249
Sorry I didn't mean to hurt you with the canon ball, it's just that being in the navy it stuck out like a sore thumb to me. In keeping in the spirit of TNG it would probably be LTJG, though the one thing that bugged the hell out of me about Star Trek is that enlisted personnel are almost never shown (especially in the TNG era, where the only enlisted personnel I can remember hearing about are Chief O'Brien, and Worf's adoptive father claiming to be a retired chief). And when there are enlisted it's usually the main characters (who are officers) who tend to do the leg work on the ship. Were it realistic I would say that the engineer would either be a machinists mate or a damage controlman 3rd or 2nd class, and would likely have whatever NEC Starfleet uses for life support technicians, assuming it isn't it's own rate. Of course he would be sent in AFTER the VBSS team has cleared the alien ship of all potential hostiles.

2931790
But why would MACOs have engineers who work on ships? That should be Starfleet.

2935719 who knows? just because we've seen MACO security doesn't mean they don't have other branches in them, such as sciences or operations

2935730
But it's like asking a Marine engineer to fix a Navy ship, though I guess it could be hand waved in that he would have both technical and combat experience, it's just odd that they would have a MACO engineer as their best engineer available.

2935760 the key word there is best available

2935791
And on an interstellar ship where good engineers can keep you from dieing a slow painful death due to lack of heat/oxygen/water/pressure/ or a reactor overload a MACO would not be your best available engineer, though maybe your most expendable, especially if he decided to wear his lucky red shirt that day.

2935791
2935883

You two are arguing about his title but neither of you bothered to notice the name! :unsuresweetie:

You'll find out tomorrow since no one else noticed either. :facehoof:

“The ponies, Captain?”
“Yes, Mr. Worf: the ponies.”

This is all the reason anyone should ever need to read your stories. Just saying.

Also, if Fluttershy has been assimilated, does that mean that any Borg drone can use The Stare? No wonder they rampaged across Equestria...

And Tribblesprites? Tribbles and parasprites can crossbreed!? Oh, the fecundity! :raritydespair:

In any case, looking forward to more. Especially given the fun that is time travel tense confusion.

2945154

LOL. :rainbowlaugh:

The time-travel nomenclature will get a lot worse. I only hope I don't get lost in the process. :rainbowwild:

And damn. Fecundity? Talk about vocab word of the day! Even I had to google that one!

2945173
Card games are a surprisingly good source of vocabulary.

2945215

Magic the Gathering seems to be a very popular game around here. I've never even seen it played. Maybe I'm missing out.

If Fluttershy is assimilated, how is she with the mane6 and Enterprise? Unless one of them isn't Futtlershy. Maybe Trixie?

2945518

I've been saying FIVE ponies. And Worf comments that he didn't see her in sickbay. :moustache:

Is the Enterprise D, or E? As I recall Enterprise D was lost to an old klingon warbird that had access to their shield frequencies, and replaced with the Ent. E, and you have this set after the battle of Sector 001, as the Defiant was heavily damaged during that battle (I'm shocked it wasn't destroyed) and I'm pretty sure the Sovereign class was unavailable at the time of the Dominion war

2945721

So I used memory alpha to make the stars, planets, and timelines all sync together.

This is just after the movie Star Trek: First Contact (The Borg attack on Earth). The Defiant was in the movie with Worf in command. - And that's my excuse for getting him back on the Enterprise.

As for the Ship, The Enterprise D was destroyed when the saucer section crashed onto Veridian III (ST: Generations). Enterprise E was the ship for the remaining movies, so this is now Enterprise E in the story.

Hope that lines up!

2945756 thanks, it's just you're mentioning the Dominion war and I know almost for a fact that the Defiant during that time was captained by Sisko, not Worf

2945764

Here's are two snippets from the Timeline:
ST Timeline
Federation-Klingon War

The Federation-Klingon War (2372-73) was a brief but brutal conflict fought between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire from 2372-2373.

The Borg make a second attempt to assimilate the Federation in 2373, but are stopped by the crew of the new USS Enterprise-E. (Star Trek: First Contact)

The Dominion War rages for two years between 2373 and 2375, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of millions of people before a decisive Federation Alliance victory. The war devastates the Alpha Quadrant, especially the Cardassian Union. (DS9: "Call to Arms" – "What You Leave Behind")

So the year is 2373, just after the Federation-Klingon War and ST: First Contact, but before the start of the Dominion War. Before the Dominion War, Commander Sisko was still in charge of DS9, but taking occasional missions on the Defiant. When neither Sisko nor Major Kira were in charge, Lt. Cmdr, Worf had the con (which was the case in ST: First Contact). When the Dominion War starts, Sisko gets promoted to Captain.

Sorry for the very long explanation, but in my first story I got so many canon/timeline hits, I did my HW this time around. :twilightsheepish:

2945806 ok, I just couldn't remember what timeline the DW was in terms of when the Battle of Sector 001 was, and how come no Sovereign-class ships were ever seen in the DW?

2945818

Maybe Enterprise E was the first.

2945829 If E was first, then there'd still be some ships of the same or similar class being built in the later years of the war

2945518

Technically Fluttershy isn't assimiliated yet, as that will happen three days from now.:pinkiehappy:

2945607

There is something that I don't understand. It is clear that Picard will assist the ponies, especially since the Borg is involved (all ST fans know about captain's personal vendetta against the collective, ever since he was assimilated). What I can't comprehend is, if they manage to arrive to Equestria before the Borg appears, won't it create a paradox? Because there will be doubles for five ponies, onle of them an alicorn. To prevent that they would have to appear after Twilight and the rest vanish in that time-travel spell. And I'm also afraid that they found and used the spell a few days after Fluttershy was assimilated (Twilight said that Equestria is under attack a week from now, therefore they didn't use the spell until several days after the Borg appeard for the first time)...

Either way, from my point of view, Fluttershy's chances of getting de-Borged (like it happened with Picard) are getting really low... Other than preventing the assimilation in the first place (and creating a paradox in the process) I don't see her being rescued...

2946128

Without spoiling too much, the paradox will be there and it will eventually be resolved, I'll leave the details a mystery for now. :scootangel:

2946295

This is the reason why I hate time-traveling... One mistake, one single misstep and you could put a whole Universe into jeopardy (at least in Doctor Who you don't have that much of paradoxes). Well, I'll be waiting for the answer for my questions in the next chapters.

That picture made me :yay: because of cuteness but now I want to toss the borg into a white dwarf.

I have one word about fluttershy's assimilation, just one word. I apologize in advance to anypony who speaks russian, I learned this playing Battlefield 3 with russian voiceover, am spelling by ear, in the anglo-roman alphabet. Stzraznye
