Pinkie Pie finds that she has recently been having problems and goes to Twilight for help. When Twilight looks into it, she discovers that Pinkie was experiencing symptoms of diabetes.

UPDATE: Remastered chapter has been added. Is essentially a complete re-write of the original story made into a single chapter.

*First attempt at a story. Please provide feedback and comment on anything that is wrong such as spelling and factual errors (Which should be quite a bit).

**Also if you enjoy the story, if you could please leave a like and/or favorite. It helps me write and makes me happy :)

***UNDERGOING RE-WRITE.

Chapters will get longer. I didn't really spend much time on the 1st chapter besides checking and rechecking.

I have been waiting for this day to come, for 5 months. Let there be Diabetus!

Inevitable, really.

I for one can say you have the symptoms right, if your one to ask yes I do have type one diabetes, at first I read the title, I thought it was going to be the typical misconception about a person that has it,. Do not feel bad for me, I just saw this story, while not a total brony, I had to read it. If you are still going to ask how long i have had it well... for about fifteen to sixteen years now, if you have any regards of what a typical diabetic goes though in a year, you may ask me.
A fan that sorta cares...
~RGANonalith.
Edit: I know I don't wanna sound like I'm harking on you about this, but metabolism is some what of the disease its self, It's also when you lose some or most of your insulin producing islet cells, even all of them in type one cases. Living off an insulin pump isn't that hard when it basically does the work for you.
-also I got annoyed when that commercial came on, now that I look back on it it makes feel, I dunno... i do admit it made me chuckle a little, only because that's how that guy pronounced it( I don't remember his name, I know the news about him though.) Typical right?

i like that picture its so funny:rainbowlaugh: now all you have to do is spell it like this pinkie gets diabeetus instead of diabetes.

aww dont forget it makes you EXTRA THirsty as well :pinkiehappy::raritycry::raritydespair:

1974436 Let's just say I left that out for reasons :)

1970707 Yeah I don't really know much about diabetes other than a little research. If this insults anyone in any way, i'm not trying to make fun of anyone with it. I just thought of it one day and decided to try writing it.

1974442 Let's also just say that it will spoil the story :)

1974449 Meh.... I just shrug off the the little things... does kinda get me riled up when some one guesses about my own disease... no hard feeling though. Like i said you may ask me any question about it, I pretty much know about everything there is about type two and type one( ha ha ha comes with years of having it and doing research on it, seriously who would not do research on their own disease. , then again... never mind you may get my point.)
I know by reading this you're more than likely going into the type two direction, but little you provided besides the typical symptoms provide the thought that it isn't type one, type one comes in at early age, most of the symptoms are the same, but it hits you like a bang of a door. At the same time type two can do the same thing but it slowly appears and gets worse over time, mostly occurring those of in their early 30's to late 50's even though it really doesn't matter what age you are to get both of them. In rare cases a type two get so bad they can degrade to type one.
- tips I would probably suggest
None as of right now, I don't see any problems, Yes, I would be careful on some content, I think it's just my self, but it's other people as well that can really get all crazy about it.
Again no hard feelings...
~RGANonalith
Edit:
In most type two cases, the trait of getting it is genetically receive, meaning if you have had some with in your blood line that has it and/or had it, your change of getting it also increase significantly, leading to the fact of just getting it because you ate to much sugar in your past is much as a cause of diabetics is a risky subject matter even for me to get the jest of.

Hey I have. Diabetes so I found one mistake, diabetes isn't small or big.:raritywink:

aww pinkie is going crazy :pinkiesad2::fluttershyouch:

Currently writing a little into the 3rd chapter. It's called Chapter 3: Drugs?.

Hey Teamderpy, we both have diabetes. :pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick:

Looking forward to what happens next. :raritywink:
You know sh**'s going down when you have to make transactions in (what I'm assuming will be) a dark ally.

okay wow, now that I see were this may be going, let humor be involved.
Humalog(R), along with other types of insulin is more commonly used in both types of diabetes, do to it's range of of fast acting and long lasting effects, I know this is more the type two case, to tell the truth they use it too, I might add that it also depends on the persons tolerance to that type of insulin, it isn't that brand, I could name all of them but that would take to long.
*Heh Heh*, the only thing I don't know what types of typical drugs a type two would take to fit their needs.
-with interest and lost of lols,
~RGANonalith
On another note: Don't forget your high, low, and normal ranged blood sugars, which those are averaged to...
Low: Below 70
Normal: 70-100
High: 100 or higher, once you get past 200s or higher it is considered unhealthy.
(those also depend on the persons health)
Doctors also recommend us to check yourself at least four times a day.

1981018 ..... I can't tell whether if you're angry or going along with the story.

1982127 oh oops, ha, my fault really, just trying to offer some pointers.
Even though it could be better , I'm going a long with it.
Nothing really insults me here(or other diabetics), to be clean and honest, it sorta made me laugh, gets a good refresher once in a while something like this is taken into a story seance. It's one of those go all out rage, or just try to help the person try to understand it more deals. in this situation it more of help you out kinda deal. I admit you did some research on it, not much by what you have here, if it really angered me, i woulda probably put something way worse then i intended to, but i have learned from my past not to do that, especially not on this website.
If I still sounds like I'm trying to be hateful, or unjust, I'm sorry. I am just one of those types that thinks this type of information should be gotten right and not really be guessed at. Then again.. oh well...
~Sincerest Apologies, RGANonalith

1982255 It's okay. I didn't put much effort into researching for reasons which I cannot say until the story is finished which should be soon. Thank you for enjoying the story so far. Also sorry if my replies are short as I am a man of few words.

1982315 :rainbowlaugh: If I really cared I would have an accurate version, but this is comedy for intentional purpose I should care less, and again to be honest... I just have to let things go more often. Then again most people see it in the unexplained version more than I don't wanna go out all out rage on them when they this to my face, "If you're a diabetic, why aren't you fat?" or some thing along those lines. (True story)
It's worse when your sitting by a cop and they hear you say(with nothing around you that proves you have diabetes): " I feel so terrible when I'm high." and they automatically think you're talking about drugs, then you have to finish what you wear trying to say. (also true a story)
Oh god.. too.. many funny tales.. must tell later... bwahaha...
~Hats off to you sir, have a good day.

Something I think I should mention.
My dad got Diabetes, type two to be exact. Up until he had been diagnosed he drank alcohol and ate whatever he wanted, he had a sweet tooth for sure.

After he was diagnosed, no more beer, or spirits because it turns to pure sugar, low carb diet because carbs are again, a sugar. He was allowed to use Splenda in his food for sugar replacement and not that surprisingly fresh fruit was out of the question.

I am amazed however, that Pinkie Pie hasn't been to an ACTUAL DOCTOR to confirm Twilight's suspicion, because it is just that. Mind you, lowering her sugar intake is probably a good thing, but here is the last catch, with all the energy Pinkie Pie uses to break physics and bounce everywhere and so on, I would assume that she would have to have sugar pills or some form of sugar on her so she does not go into a diabetic attack from low sugars.:pinkiesick:

Dear Princess Celestia,

Today I learned not to jump to conclusions, unless you want a hoof-full of sugar crammed into your face.

Your faithful student,
Twilight Sparkle
(Now excuse me while I rinse my mouth out)

no not sugar :pinkiegasp:
Pinkie don't do it :pinkiegasp:

2002535 Hmm, Yes, reminds me how lucky I am with getting a pump. I still kinda sorta have watch what I eat, check myself on a regular basis, and other obvious tedious tasks. I feel over privileged to get one that knowing that there's others who can't have one or rather have a Lantus{R}( a type of needle {that you replace} that you fill with around 200 units of insulin or so and give them selves it manually.) I really never heard how different a type two's life can be compared to a type one, in all considerations I think type two's have it worse, but really why should I need to compare? Their both terrible in their own two cases.

And magic man, Hats off to you good sir.

That Drug is a spy, and is also a lie!(no pun or rhyme intended)

2006499
With type two, it can be managed with pills or just by diet alone, typically people with Type 2 diabetes do not need to take insulin at all.

2006824 *shrugs* that whats i keep on hearing. i know that much also, did lots a research, still not entirely sure lol, thanks. i must looked at a new(now kinda old) development in research wrong two years ago when i saw that they had developed some sort of system like insulin for type twos' that would help them like a pump, oh well( can't remember where or when it was published, but I'm pretty sure it was shot down for some reason) entirely on any case eessh... *overly complains about the usual after so many years* ha ha..welp at least i can relate.. sorta...

2025252 I'll probably do something similar to this story involving other characters in their own special predicament :pinkiehappy:

"You do realize you both are gonna have to pay for this right?"
Typical doctor visit. :rainbowlaugh:

cop out ending but...ok

My prediction for the ending went something like this: "Pinkie does not, in fact have diabetes." "Yay!" "Actually, she has [something infinitely worse]." Still, the ending was fine and all in all it was a pretty enjoyable read for a first story.

I did notice, however, that you constantly switched between present tense and past tense. You need to be really careful not to do that in the future.

2092620 Yeah sorry, I'm honestly pretty bad with beginnings and endings :P

2093058 Yeah sorry, this isn't the first time I've made these mistakes. I've done these during EXAMS.

2094583
Hey, you're fine; no need to apologize. Next time, just keep in mind what tense you want the story to be in as you write and make sure you don't use anything else.

feeling the need to say... what the heck did I read all together? And in the end TL;DR meh.. +1 just because... it's pinkie pie..

2110314 Pinkie being Pinkie :P

Bahahahaha th th thi this is SOOOOO FUNNY :rainbowlaugh:

My mom: it sould not be that funny
5 min. later
Hahaha

I told her but she only read the title :trixieshiftright: :facehoof:

3329529 My story was funny? Cool. Thanks for reading! :pinkiehappy:

poor Pinkie Diabetes aint no joke.

i know since i got it and its type 1 which means i need insulin shots since my body doesnt produce it anymore.:pinkiesad2:

well i got it stable now as long i know what amount of insulin i need to take for food and i regularly take walks after eating and i move alot when im at work.

The story isn't meant to be taken seriously in the least. Especially since it's so poorly written. :twilightsheepish:
I do apologize if you felt the least bit insulted by the story.

I enjoyed this story a lot and it seems as though that whould happen to pinkie in the future.
