Considering the direction that my muse has led me in writing "The Lay of Floreat & Cenwulf" - namely through Cenwulf's 14 year old son reading about him I have reached a decision.
I think a 14 year old should not be reading certain things, especially graphic descriptions of his parents love life. To that end, the book given to him has had those things excised from it by his mother.
"But what about the clop!? We want the sexy times!" I hear some of you say, and you need not fear for I have a plan!
A full, unabridged, un-Bowlderized edition of the Lay exists, and that will be uploaded under the title "Cenwulf Saga".
And also, I have decided, that I will in fact be writing a story told from Leofric's POV, exploring what it's like to grow up a Satyr. It will cover his life from just before he enters the Royal Academy for gifted Unicorns all the way until adulthood.
The "present" of the Lay and of most of Leofric's Saga is about 14 years in the future from now (2014).
I want to thank all my readers for their patience, support and advice.
Due to ongoing, un-resolved health issues I cannot promise a regular update schedule.

Although I am only one chapter in, I am really confident about my new story. I think I have created some very good characters, who interact in believable ways. I particularly like the relationship between Floreat and her Satyr son, Leofric. I plan on keeping reader guessing where it is going - how did Floreat & Cenwulf fall in love? Where is he now?
I also like Leofric, he seems like such an interesting young man, what would life be like growing up & what would adulthood hold? I may end up doing a spin off about him called "Leofric's Saga"

Needless to say, "A Gentleman's journal" is now on hiatus.
What exactly is a "Lay"?
"A lay may be a song, a melody, a simple narrative poem, or a ballad, such as those written in the early 19th century by Sir Walter Scott and Thomas"Macaulay. http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/333102/lay
What does "Floreat" mean? It is Latin for "may (he, she, or it) flourish" yes, Equestria had Latin.

I am almost done with the new chapter of A Gentleman's journal. It is just over 4000 words long and by Friday or Saturday should be up to 6000+ and ready for publishing. Hopefully you guys think it is worth the wait as I'm working hard to make it a really good chapter. I may take a hiatus from A Gentleman's Journal to start on Floreat & Cenwulf for a while.

I really really really really REALLY REALLY want to appologise for the huge delay in getting the next chapter of A Gentleman's Journal done. I'm working frantically on it and aim to have it up before the fortnight is out.
My health over the last few months has been very poor as I've been rather lathargic and had issues relating to having Crohns. Let that be a lesson to anyone else with long term illnesses - don't skip medication a lot, and if you doctor says you need additional treatments, take them!
As a teaser/proof here's a short extract from the work thus far.
Celestia paused, then turned back to face me 'Edmund?'
'Yes?' I asked
Her face faltered for the merest of momments before resuming its usual beneficent expression.
'Never mind, it's not important.' she replied with a smile
'Are you sure? It seemed like you had something that you wanted to tell me.' I said
'I'm quite sure, Please pay it no mind. Well, we had best be off, goodbye everypony.'
And with that they left.
There's a few spelling/grammar mistakes and it needs more descriptive language (it is a journal of someone's life so it should have him recounting actions etc)

With the impending airing of the season four premire, I can assure you of the next chapter of "A Gentlemans' journal". I can now write without worrying about plot holes caused by discrepancies between the show and what I write (as I want to have my story have elements of the shows i.e Discord being reformed)
So look to see a chapter up in time for Christmas.
Like many other Bronies I'm hyped as to what season 4 has in store, and I will be watching it. Also, the day of the Doctor is on too, so i'm spoilt for choice!
