Here I am, on the front lines of sheer madness. I know I won't make it. My wife knew. But my foal will never know. Never know who I was. So I write this letter to her, in hopes that she'll realize why I did it. Why I'm going to put my and hundreds of other ponies' lives on the line to stop them. I'm sorry, sweetie. But now it's worth it. I can see her, and that's enough.
Art is clearly not mine.
Powerful stuff, bro. You got me right in the feels! Also,

Thank you, all of you. There will be one more chapter, much shorter (probably) to Applejack. Then a written, actual story chapter that explains exactly what Dash did.
Ooo, very nice.
Saw you posted a new story and I couldn't remember why I was watching you, so I read it.
NO REGRETS!
That...... was so beautiful.
Damn...why did you have to make this so sad?

Because depression is the window to the soul!
I think I may have screwed up that saying xD
Really well written! And you transport the feelings very well. The girffin king was a bit one-dimensional, though, justifying their war with a rhetoric revolving about "the right of the predator to feast on any prey they choose" or some such would have fit better.
And I think I see what you did with Rainbow.
She went nuclear, didn't she.
