As someone who also ships Twilight with an OC (because canon characters are overrated), off to a good start just from the description.

And you are not the only one shipping Twilight with an OC, Royal Guard or other pony. While I prefer not to ship any pony with a human, I will and often do ship with OC ponies. I was just writing one this morning when I came across this story. Nah, I'm really not a fan of bug-ponies, but nor am I the type to complain. I'll simply give it a shot.

Regarding the OC couples, I always wonder why so much melodrama for a ship with OC is simply stupid, everyone is free to make the couples they want, no matter who it is, since for example if someone made a story about Flash Sentry, Spike or Big Mac with a character that is not a canon ship, if anyone complains I bet I will give them a thousand excuses. The truth is that I don't care about a ship as long as it is well written since that is, in my opinion, what matters.
