If there was an award for "Longest Losing Streak to Crystal Prepatory Academy," it would go to one school, and one school only. You might not know which one I'm talking about, so here's a hint: their mascot rhymes with "Blunderdolts."

Rated T for brief mention of drugs. Set pre-EqG 1.

Howdy, hi~!

I enjoyed this one. It was a good read and really well done on showing the bitterness of the losses then the joy of winning. I definitely feel that the pacing is somewhat off, the ending feels disjointed from the rest, but still great. Thanks for the read~!

For me this was an interesting experience of "death of the author."

You can read it one way, as I expect the author intended, i. e. comparing the cameraderie of CHS in defeat to the loneliness of CPA's win-at-all-costs ethos.

Or you can read it as I did at first- where I pictured the viewpoint character of the last section as the same person as the rest of the story, who somehow had abandoned CHS and got into Crystal Prep, and was finding out how hollow victory was.

Or maybe that WAS how the author intended it, and the idea of two different anonymous viewpoint characters is wrong. But as presented, I don't see anything that excludes either interpretation.

Would have been funny when the guy decide to transfer out of frustration, possibly burning a few bridges. It would be the day CPA finally lost/tied with CHS during that fateful game where one of his new schoolmates going she demon lol.

Holy guacamole, this is great.

Seriously. I love your narrative style, the way you wrote the characterʼs struggles and feelings, the stinng of losing. I love how you weaved all these things together.

And that ending. The character straight up abandoning CHS? Wow.

Overall, great work. And Iʼm genuinely surprised as to why this doesnʼt have more views.

Yep, that was pretty good!

I'll admit that some parts feel too vague for me to actually understand their meaning, but that's just average art for you~ They make you feel stuff, and I did feel that change of the environment and the consistency of the feeling of loss inside.

EDIT: Okay I finally understood what's with that ending, the winning, and the changes of the environment. You win some You lose some I guess. Both schools are different.
They're both good, depends on what you want.

It really is worth the recommendation!

Victory is relative. It's a question of what you won, whether that shiny medal that tastes like cheap energy drinks is worth the cold sterility that earned it, or whether the bonds you forge in commiseration transcend the tacky consolation prize.

Lovely work throughout. Thank you for it.

Huh, an underrated fic. Excellent job portraying the differences, the enviroment, and how different both schools treat their loss/wins

I read this in an Appalachian accent in front of 5 people

Thank you for this :D

Hello! Let me add to your upvote count and offer you a little review to boot. A pretty intriguing Fimfiction debut, and the way you chose to write here (no student names at all, for one thing) definitely gives it a distinctive feel. My one issue is a me problem, not a you problem: since I'm a Brit, terms like "upperclassman" that we never use over here inevitably cause slight bumps. But I like the fic nevertheless, especially what you do at the end.
