Glad to see such a good homage to the Muppet Show. And, yeah, this being an AU makes semi-reformed versions of Tirek, Cozy and Chrysalis make more sense. And it opens up a whole mess of possibilities for expanding this universe's Ponyville into a full-on Muppet Show homage.
Time Turner and Muffins would be pretty logical picks for Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker respectively.
Pinkie Pie would be an insultingly obvious pick as Fozzie Bear
Given her fondness for daredevil stunts, Rainbow Dash would be the most logical pick as Gonzo (with Scootaloo as Camilla, albeit as a little sister figure instead as a fillyfriend).
And, if there were a Pigs in Space homage, Sunburst would make a logical Doctor Strangepork, with Bulk Biceps as Link Hogthrob.
The Ponytones would most likely be in the role of the Electric Mayhem
Discord and Trixie would probably be Statler and Waldorf (as they are the most natural hecklers of the recurring cast)
Twilight would almost certainly be Kermit with Spike as a hybrid of Scooter and Robin (the main assistant like Scooter and being a relative of the one in the Kermit role like Robin).
And, I'm sorry about that. My mind just got a little to caught up in the possibilities. No need to take all of this seriously if you don't want to. My apologies again.
Taking all.chapters into account, about what fraction of these jokes are verbatim, or nearly verbatim, from The Muppet Show? I haven't seen the original, but am curious to know.
