Hitch and Sunny have known each other for years, having grown up together along with spending their whole lives in Maretime Bay. It's no surprise that the two are close friends, a bond that hasn't been broken no matter what.
So imagine Hitch's surprise when Sunny stops by his office one day with a proposal: She wants to go on a date with him. And she's not taking no for an answer.
With no other options, Hitch agrees to the date even though he's extremely nervous. He doesn't want to jeopardize his friendship with Sunny if things don't work out, and he has no idea what Sunny has planned for him.

Aww this was a very sweet story and to be honest I actually ship these two not because they are Earth ponies but how much they know each other ever since childhood and I think that's actually a pretty nice one to think about it so it was pretty nice of Sunny taking hitch on a date it was pretty nervous about it but then he went along with her even though he had no idea how to skate which to be honest I don't know how to skate either but they look like they were having fun especially enjoying the company with each other and then she even admitted how much she cares about him and how much he cares about her as well again I really liked the story keep out to go to work

Hey there. Sorry I haven't reviewed more of your stories lately. Nothing to blame except self-admitted laziness. But anyway, this is an adorable one shot. Thanks very much for doing this. Certainly appreciate the work that went into the exchanges, characterizations and general wrap-up. Quite certainly liked the bits of reflection as well as their first date being a play loosely based on their first adventure with their new friends.
Certainly looking forward to more of your work in general (even if I don't review quite as many of them as I should).
I really enjoyed this. More than reasonable. Sunny being confident was nice. It's such an overused trope to have Sunset - Or Twilight for that matter - be unsure or worried about starting a relationship it was refreshing to have her determined and cnfident. Hitch being unsure but receptive was also a nice switch up. And their relationship felt realistic. They didn't suddenly decide they'd been in love the whole time. Sunny decided she wanted a romantic relationship and Hitch decided to give it a whirl and see where it went. It felt much more organic. Nice work.
You're right about it being it being a common plot point for the characters to go to the movie theater for a date. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. Heck, one of my stories began that way. But it does bug me when they go to see Judgment Neigh specifically. Like, isn't it all but stated to be a piece of anti-unicorn propaganda. I'd imagine that after the events of the movie it'd be a little awkward to sit though.
But anyways, good story. You changed a bit from the usually format, both in terms of characterization and plot, but everything still felt very believable and cute. Have a Derpy
