Although the story plot and genre is far from my usual, I'm always captivated by your skill with narrative voice, which really shines in Octavia's narration. Concise, with all the right details to evoke the right emotion, and without the need for super fancy vocabulary. For example, I saw the "forty twelve hundred" as symbolizing Octavia's frustration with not being able to communicate with her captors. Little details like that.
I'm just a little confused why this is on Earth (with locations like Maldives and Patagonia) and with humanized characters, since there's no Human tag.
Also, a very polished reading, with good audio quality, music, and sound effects. Is this your first time doing a reading?
I love that you did it yourself; it's always easier to put in just the right expressiveness in the voice when you wrote the story yourself.
