I mean there isn't even that great of a difference, except the newer one being bigger, and generally more intimidating. This is not a visual medium so it's not like your going to "see" the monster anyway. Meaning you can just imagine it looking as whatever you want.

So Twilight feels that something is 'off' about herself and her friends, and Godzilla's first act is to hold his head in pain. Methinks there's some mind games going on.
