You are aware that Marijuana, though bad for the lungs when smoked, is scientifically proven to be non-addictive by itself, right?
Anyone who claims someone is addicted to pot is a misinformed individual who should be probably be asking why the person they are accusing is using SO MUCH instead of AT ALL.
Believe me, i have been on a lot of medications, medical marijuana among them.
I know some stuff.
Edit: having done some research, allow me to clarify to anyone who thinks dependency means addiction. No. It does not. A scientist depends on their equipment to do their work. Last time i checked, there was no way to become addicted to SCIENTIFIC MACHINERY in a manner used for RECREATIONAL PLEASURE.
This is relevant because there is a disorder where marijuana use becomes a dependency, which can then spiral down into addiction IF USE BY THE INDIVIDUAL CONTINUES TO INCREASE. In addition, due to many believing that having a dependency is proxy to addiction, means that many reported cases of "addiction" to marijuana can more often than not be attributed a dependency of some sort. That's not to say addiction is impossible. It's like the chances of getting killed by a chicken. Very low. But never zero.

On a note that is mostly unrelated to my previous comment, the only gateway anyone will see while on marijuana is the entry to the nearest fast food restaurant.
This may be the greatest anti-drug PSA I've ever seen.
For a number of reasons.
If only for the fact that even marijuana will be detrimental to you in some way, even if it's just as simple as how freaking expensive it is, it would be better to avoid the substance if at all possible.
