You know I'm disappointed. I was hoping for Spike to take the spotlight but nope you decided that Rainbow Dash should which in my opinion is a cop out.
It was an amazing chapter and a good duel like the original series, if i can make a suggestion, the next duel could be Alexis vs Spike, think about it, both Spike and Cyrus(Sho) has a crush on Rarity and Alexis and they are in the Obelisk Blue , and the next chapter in GX, Jaden Fights Alexis, all because of a Love Letter Mistake, I think you could fix the plot of chapter 3 of GX to change things a bit and give Spike his chance to show his deck and defeat an Obelisk
Feels a little off to have some of the girls like Rarity in Obelisk Blue but Twilight didn't get in?
Well, although Spike didn't participate, it was a good episode and i like the way spike symphatyse with syrus.

And if you are going to rely on the GX chapters, I have good suggestions to place The Mane 6 and Spike in a duel (Sure, taking the victory)
Chapter 12 Twilight VS Chazz(Manjoume), because Twi is in Yellow and she can replace Bastion(Misawa) to battle Chazz(Manjoume)
Chapter 13 Fluttershy VS The Ape Duelist, because Fluttershy gets along with animals
Chapter 14 Pinkie VS Jinzo, i dont have a good reason to this duel
Chapter 15 Rarity VS Harrington, Rarity can defend herself and thats a good reason to fight this guy
Chapter 16 Spike VS Duel Giant, maybe Spike will symphatyse with this 2 duelists
Chapter 17 Applejack VS Damon, well both are strong characters

I hope so because, well, right now this feels like GX guest starring the mane 6 plus Spike. They're not doing anything other than being background or secondary characters. Even during the entrance exam, it felt like Rainbow was playing second fiddle to Jaden

You make a great point. I didn't have the best idea what to do at the start apart from a few smaller ideas. I did plan to have the Main 6 and Spike or one of the GX characters either take the place of Jaden for some duels or tag duel with a character. I do have a few ideas for orignality, but I would really appreciate it if any of you could give me ideas for original stories in this setting. I'll try the best I can to give you an interesting story, though. Thank you for reading and reviewing.
I feel like when you introduce some custom cards like Ancient Gear Spear, could you describe what they look like? Since we have no way of looking them up online due to not "existing" and such.
Like describing what the custom card monster or the card art of the custom spell/trap you made to show the readers what it looks like so they can visualize it better.
Kind of confused, its said Spike is wearing red in the beginning of the chapter but in the chapter itself it seems to be acting like Spike isn't in Slifer Red.
Doesn't seem right that he's in the lowest dorm there, like him being around Twilight and being her Number 1 Assistant he would most likely pick up alot of stuff. Like smarter than he looks, I mean.. he gotta be smart to know stuff in order to assistant Twilight in important stuff there.

I mean, he often got the short end of the stick in the show, sometimes due to he's not a "chosen one" like the Mane 6 are pretty much.
Honestly, the Applejack and Blair stuff was more interesting. Nothing really changed from the Jaden vs Chazz duel or anything else relating to them. It could have been pushed to the side so we could have had a more interesting chapter. Maybe having Rainbow talking to AJ at the end about how Jaden and she did.
Kind of wonder if Spike would be the first to know(aside from Applejack) about Blair's gender there?
You know I am kinda confused that spike is slipher red now that I think about it. He has always been really smart having to keep up with twilight. I feel like unless he is a horrible duelist which I hope isn't the case because I hope he rocks a red eyes black dragon deck or some other dragon theme.

the author of the story was originally going to go the Equestria Girls route with Spike and turn them into a dog, which has always been a major insult to Spike's character because he's not a pet he's a little brother. So he honestly doesn't know what to do with Spike which I am highly disappointed in it feels like he's giving attention to the girls but is basically saying spike is useless which is wrong. If it wasn't for Spike I don't think Twilight would have been the person she is now, we also would have a dead Dragon princess, a changeling who's probably died from the cold, and Crystalis would have one after she kidnapped everyone, which means Spike was important for a lot of the big changes in the world of Equestria. I also would have really loved it Spike was the one to duel Chazz instead of it Jaden liking Cannon. If you're just going to follow the Canon story of the show that you make the crossover better by literally replacing the characters with the characters you intend to cross it over with. Like the fanfiction Highschool Dragon which takes the story and characters of DxD and replaces them with MLP characters specifically Spike replacing issei. It's a good story especially since both Spike and issei have very interesting perspective well they may not be the same character type they both have a sense of Honor when it comes to women. While issei maybe a pervert he at least is chivalrous enough to be polite to people most of the time. I'm getting at here is if you're going to do a crossover do it right don't just rehash the stories with them in it. This story barely even changed from the original with instead of Jaden dueling Blair it's Applejack and it's at the same time as the Chazz vs. Jaden practical exam duel. I just feel like this story is being a let down especially since it's following the Rainbow Dash it seems and to anyone who's favored is Rainbow – you'll have to forgive me she's my least favorite character out of the entire cast. My absolute favorite character is Spike and it physically hurts me to see him Done Dirty like this.

I agree. While I have written a few fanfics, I don't completely know what I am doing quite yet. In a lot of my fanfics, I feel compelled to keep the original story while still including other characters, which isn't the best combination. If anyone has any ideas of how to do both, please let me know. I do have plans for original duels with the Mane 6 and Spike, though I still need ideas for what to do with Spike and Pinkie Pie. I also plan to change who is dueling for a few duels while other will be tag duels so that both GX characters and MLP characters have a chance at the spotlight.
As for Spike, I didn't quite give him much thought when I first wrote the fanfic on Fanfcition.net I didn't know what to do with him. While I still don't quite know what to do, thinking about it Spike is a great and important character, even if he still isn't my favorite. I also am going to take the ideas in comments into account and give Spike a Red Eyes deck

I'm torn between having Spike if you'll either the Amazon or the vampire now that I think about it. If you're looking for combos to play then there are plenty of combinations that are documented for the red eyes deck. My personal favorite is using assault wyvern to bring out a level 7 or higher monster Pickering up beat down on your opponent since it's a fact allows you to special summon a dragon type monster from either the hand or graveyard after it destroys a monster on your opponent's side of the field and allows to attack with said dragon all by sacrificing assault wyvern after it destroys the opponent's monster. Or you can use red eyes Fusion and get red eyes black dragon in the graveyard to summon one of its fusion monsters and then you play Birthright to bring it red eyes back from the dead thereby giving you a chance to have two extremely powerful Dragon monsters on the field. These are just the start of the potential that red eyes has which kind of it's symbolic of what people usually associate for blue eyes and red eyes, Blue-Eyes embodies endless power while the red eyes embodies infinite potential.
Ah, the Terrorking Archfiend, this was one of my favorite duels in Yugioh GX next to the duel with Brron, Mad KIng of Dark World. I've always grow fond of these Archfiend cards back then. Now things are really getting interesting.
Twilight is so going to be proven wrong with what she is about to witness there.
About the Abandoned Dorm, makes me worried on how things would go for Spike when that duel with Gravekeeper's Chief happens.
Hope its not like Spike ends up like the others, has in needing to be rescued with how everyone in the group except Jaden in the episode nearly ended up buried and mummified or something. Just hope its not like that here.

I run a red eyes deck and there are a couple of key cards I like to use but summond skull or red eyes arch fiend of lightning are good to also put in as well as red eyes cards. So you can have a more variety of extra deck. Red eyes dragon sword , archfiend black skull dragon and red eyes eyes flare metal dragon make a rather scary extra deck. Also the key the to red eyes decks are special summoning. Throw in an aincet rules or two and you can summon a red eyes like kiba with his blue eyes. Etc etc. They got alot of synergy the last couple of years.

Sorry it took so long to respond. Actually, the other duelist was meant to be the Mimic of Doom. Though, to be fair, they appear to have a similar role between the anime and manga. Also, when it comes to the duel between Chazz and Jaden at the season's midpoint, do you think I should have Jaden or Chazz win? I'm just curious.

Would he also gain some other powerful cards like chaos dragons stuff to reflect potential too and such?

About Rainbow Dash mentioning Kaiba rigging the results to separate them, I thought she was saying it out of spite but the fact Applejack mentions it too means did Kaiba actually rigged the results/stuff to have the girls and Spike separated into Dorms regardless of how they did?

Feels like it would be interesting with about their decks. But I can also see Darkness being able to see the gang in their actual forms given the nature of what he is, maybe even causing Spike to revert to dragon form during the duel given it being a Shadow Duel like how Twilight ended up in pony form during the duel with Titan.
I'm honestly disappointed in this one I thought it was going to be Spike versus some of the Obelisk Blue Bullies in a one versus many type duel using the red eyes black dragon deck we all recommended to you to completely demolish the bullies and straight-up state that he does not give a s*** what other people think about this lights are red door they got one of the best views of the entire School some of the best roommates and they don't have to worry about others in their dorm being rude to each other. Though he would recommend that they get an actual dorm and not a shotty apartment building that's more than likely was originally designed for the janitorial staff. But instead you decide to make it about Rarity trying to find Applejack a friend among the Obelisk Blues. You're really just tossing Spike away a lot of the time and that makes me sad because Spike is actually the best character in MLP.

So am I but Spike was about to win that duel himself and Destroy Garbel's soul. This one chapter has redeemed the entire story for me though finally seeing Spike kick ass and take names is rather enjoyable especially since he apparently beat Twilight four times in a row. And she is Thoroughly disturbed by his dragons. Especially the one that Pinkie took since it's still technically Spike's dragon card.
I kind of got a problem with this mainly the idea of spike attacking on his first turn in a 2 v 1 duel. He was the 2nd turn he shouldn't have been able to do that. There are other spelling mistakes which are fixable but its kinda the rules lawyer in me that is bugged by this. Also that gamble and spike seemed to have similar decks.

Oooh, a 5ds or Arc-V story? Why, that would be very interesting! As much as I love Yugioh Gx anime, I still have fond memories watching 5ds. Especially during the Earthbound Immortal story arc. Then by all means go for it!
While on the topic of GX, I just had a thought about Zane Trusdale and utilizing his Cyber Dragon deck. I was thinking, not only he would use his Cyber Dragon fusions, but also using Cyber Dragon Nova, as well as Cyber Dragon Infinity. Just an idea if you don't mind!

You officially have my interest, but why didn't you do a series based on the original Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters? I know that the 0 season technically isn't cannon, so I'm referring to the first anime that was dubbed in English. If I could do a whole series of stories based on the different Yu-Gi-Oh anime, I would. But my question would be, how would I do it? Would I have the ponies head into Yugi's world, or have them live out the lives and adventures of Yugi and his friends?
