That was very cute. Since I ship Starburst I am glad they got married here. I personally see Twilight and Tempest as sister figures rather than lovers though so I wasn’t a big fan of that stuff but it was still kinda cute regardless.

(Seriously, though, my take on it is that Twilight and Tempest find that each of them is who the other is looking for, even if it's only as someone they can depend on, more than anypony else...)
GREAT job on the exchanges, characterizations and general wrap-up in this one shot. And, yeah, I can certainly see Twi being so nervous about handling Starlight and Sunburst's wedding that she would need a lot of calming down. And, yeah, I would say this IS in the early years of Twilight's reign (long enough for Gallus to reach the rank of lieutenant, but short enough for Twilight to not have much experience with officiating weddings). But, yeah, this WILL certainly NOT be the last time she's going to have to officiate a wedding of AT LEAST ONE of her friends (Pinkie and Cheese Sandwich definitely come to mind there, as well as PROBABLY Fluttershy and Discord, etc.)
Anyway, very definitely looking forward to more of your work.

Though I’ve never really read a story focusing on her and Twilight in such a manner. And it was excellent! Though I haven’t read any romantic stories for the particular pair.

Just to give my own perspective here, it took me the longest time to wrap my head around "Princess Twilight of Equestria" as canon. I kept wanting to write stories about Twilight and her Ponyville friends, recapturing some of that wonderful Season 1-3 vibe that I'm sure brought many of us onboard with this show. However, it seems like a fair part of the readership are interested in stories featuring an "older" Mane 6, plus the Young Six, Cozy Glow, Luster Dawn, and the future of Equestria under Twilight's rule. So as an admittedly self-interested and self-serving author I want to move to where the readers are. These past few stories I've been writing are a way of exploring this new version of the world, and seeing what I can find in the way of interesting concepts and untouched ideas.
It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, we all know that. And I've written plenty of stuff that doesn't involve Twilight ruling Equestria, so if that's your preference, why not go give some of my back catalogue a look-see? Who knows, you might even find something you like! (I'm particularly fond of Shopping Spree Day myself. There's some good bits with Pinkie there which were a hoot to write!)

Yep. This failed utterly and miserably to suprise me. It might have actually worked had you used a different cover art. It's a dead give away to the plot.
Oh, and Tempest being in the story at all only ever means she and Twilight will be shipped at some point. And that the edgy as fuck Half Horn is always in the Royal Guard, because "Why the fuck not?" Is all I ever get from the sad and miserable excuses authors use.

That wasn't what the author was going for:
If someone wants to see shipping, all power to them, but at its core, this fic is just really strong friendshipping.

I love this story. Tempest shows her love for Twilight in her own in-character deceptive way. Teleporting the book was like Tempest's sneaky way of stopping Twilight from overthinking everything.
I ship Tempest and Twilight so hard now. A "bad girl" with a studious goody-two-shoes. This story I think shows how well that works.
They're perfect for each other. There's even less of a height difference.

I've written 46K words describing and justifying Tempest ending up as Twilight's personal guard, and nominal head of her own private army. That's more than sufficient justification for implying the same here. And Twilight bringing Tempest along when she was made Princess of Equestria, and appointing such a determined and capable officer and tactician to oversee her armed forces -- including the Royal Guard -- is no great stretch.

I have yet to read anything fanmade that convinced me that Tempest would ever actually do it though. Gallus being in the Guard is a stretch to be honest. But I could see it as a way as to not have to back to Griffonstone.
Plus Hasbro made it show canon, and you cannot argue, and win, with show canon.
If it had shown Tempest had done the same, or even hinted at it, then I'd say something different. But all of this about her joining the Royal Guard, has been nothing but fanmade ideas.

I say that because I don't even bother to try and fit my stories into show canon. I just use it as a basis. This, and a lot of other stories, are making themselves out as show possible. Or at least some of the ideas in them.
Tempest being a Royal Guard is one idea that, out of everything that came from the Movie, has the least to back it up as possibly being a thing.
Heck Starlight and Sunburst being a couple has more to back it up. Nothing set in stone and proven. But I can see the possibility in was shown in the show.

"Tempest Storm" seems to be a good name but "Tempest Shadow" still suits her because of her both edgy and blunt style, because "tempest" means "a violent windy storm" (especially the ones with rain, hail, snow, etc.), while "shadow" means "a dark figure" so her name simply means "a shadow from a strong wind storm"
