A poor choice was made one faithful summer day. A young man finds what many would call a miracle of science, a portal, a gateway, a bloody wormhole. No matter what you call it, the fact was that a young man found it.
"A hand wouldn't hurt." The dumbfounded man said. "Just one hand, then I'll leave."
Like a fool he reached out and touched the cursed thing. And much like a fly to a trap, there was no hope for escape. The portal warped and stretched the second the young man dare touch it. And with a final startled scream the young man forever vanished from whence he came.
I am that foolish young man, I am the one who dare mess with forces far to large for me to comprehend, and I am the one who was forever sealed from going back to whence I came. With nothing more than a bag to my name, I walked forward with no way back.

A human-turned-pony character who not only recognizes what he lost and reacts accordingly but who also didn't immediately find a way to integrate with the oh-so-glorious Pony society?

Man, his interactions with Pinkie... they really sell this fic to me. He's reasonably concerned with his own life but not some conceited or selfish ass because of it. And he's certainly not head-over-heels for Pony society. Status Quo is just so normal. You don't get that with too many fics anymore.
Definitely keep it up; this fic, and the OC, has serious potential.
Interesting story so far, I wonder what will be the main plot of the story in his adjustment to living in Equestria. Still I wonder if there are any residue or signature that could get his decked by the Equestrian scientific community.
