This is about the story, about two sisters, and about how hurt we all are over everything.

Damn. I think you did a pretty damn good job of looking at things from both sides. Sounds about right to me. The whole idea of disbanding/defunding the police has me torn, to be honest. I absolutely see the benefit of the concept, but I think it would be pretty hard to implement it. Just like practically everything else...
One little bit of levity:

...maybe enjoy some time with Stable and let off some pent up frustration.

...Was that implication intentional?

I liked it! Like Dasher said, you did a great job at laying out the sisters' perspectives and juxtaposing their views; the crescendo of their emotions at the end really sold me. It's so unfortunate that this wonderfully emotional story is so painfully close to home. But I'm glad that you got this out through this particular medium.

'Someday this war will come to an end.'

...Was that implication intentional?

You know, it took me a few minutes to realize what you were saying. This was honestly one of those times that I wasn't, in fact, implying anything sexual, but in reflection it sure sounds like it. I guess it could be taken either way, really.

"“Have you ever thought about it from some of these ponies who are mistreated?”"
...This line isn't really parsing for me, sorry. Are there missing words, or... something? I'm still not sure exactly what it's trying to say, and I had to stop and read over it and adjacent lines a few times to figure out who was speaking. I think this is Blueheart speaking, and possibly saying something about ponies saved by the police? Or possibly something about ponies who are mistreated by the police? That seems unfortunately a pretty important point to be confused on.

Other than that, though, I found this very nice (well, such as it is, given the subject matter); thank you for writing and posting it.

So it's suppose to be Redheart. Went in and cleared that up. Red is asking if Blue thinks about things from the "victom" side of being the police, or something along those lines.

I think there's still something wrong.

Redheart continued. “Have you ever thought about it from some of these ponies who are mistreated?”
“How dare you!? Of fucking course I have, I do! I’m there to help anypony. I’ve saved the lives of criminals for Celestia’s sake!”
“That doesn’t mean you understand, Red. You’re not out there, you’re not trying to be the fucking good guy when everyone’s telling you you’re the opposite.”
Redheart was off the couch now, marching to her sister.

Is that Blue talking (bold)? Should that be one big paragraph?
“That doesn’t mean you understand, Red." That line doesn't seem right when Red is saying Blue doesn.t understand.

Oooh, okay I see it now. Thanks I'll try and fix it, but yeah that should be Blue.

One of the most amazing things a good story can do is to let you “walk a mile in another person’s shoes”. Even better stories shine a light on the shortcomings and failings as well as the quiet heroism’s of ordinary folk pushed to their limits, doing what they believe must be done whether wrong or right in others’ eyes. You deliver that in this story, and you don’t cheapen the effort by proposing any easy answers that would distract from laying bare the cost to the basic humanity (in pony form) of these sisters. Well done!

This is one of those 'I get that some of them think that they have to make compromises to do the stuff what needs to be done' - or at least tell themselves that - and yet, I also ...yea, the 'The good ones have resigned' is kinda how I feel now.

And the other side has made it quite clear even just yesterday they're fine with stripping me of rights and dignity and legal protections, so its like...

You, the cop, are stressed over something you /chose/. In the end, you can choose to leave, and aren't.

But you can't choose to be a pegasus, unicorn, or earth pony, and who you are as an individual - whom you love and how you identify - those aren't choices either.

That's a big difference. One side can walk away. The other /can't/. We don't have the freedom to find a new career, because our shit is innate

Which is to say...I understand the frustration. And yea, my side has some bad actors who I am fine seeing called out.

I also don't give a shit about focusing on them right now for the same reason you ignore the kids throwing toilet paper all over because there's fucking arsonists about, you know?

One side murders those they are sworn to protect
The other loots a Target

Those two things are not equivalent and shouldn't be treated that way

Ah, thanks!
Yes, that works now. :)
Still looks to me like there might be a phrase ("the point of view of") missing in Redheart's line, but the meaning is clear, and that absence looks to me like something that might happen in that dialogue.
