This story is a sequel to The Unfortunate Stabbing of Nurse Redheart

Fillydelphia drew me in with a promise of glamour and fortune. What it gave me was betrayal and rejection. Day and night I sit huddled in the dark, watching the ponies who put me here walk by as if the shadows don't exist. But they do exist.

And they have something to say.

This is actually a very fantastic story. Not often do I see someone pull of the ol' prequel trick. Well done!

7076638 Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

Very sad story. I read the prequel/sequel as well. It hurts to know that there are real stories like this happening in the world today. Good people/ponies driven to do terrible things in order to survive.

Wow, I'm really impressed! This story definitely holds up to the original and adds something interesting into the mix. I really like what you've done with it. The end might have been a bit rushed perhaps, but that's a small complaint in the middle of a very nicely done story. There were some really nice feels in there, and the only real complaint I have is 'how did it take him so long to realize it was Redheart?'

Before I read it, what is the Dark tag for?
And how bad does it get ?

7971344 Hi there! Good question, and I'll try to answer somewhat efficiently here. ;)

Dark tag is in play mainly for the themes that run through the piece: A broken and resented protagonist, a simmering desire to give others a taste of their own medicine (in his mind), and finally, a moment of violence that backfires horribly.

I'd recommend reading the original fic this is based off of, as this story basically re-tells it, but from the opposite POV. I'll lightly warn that the original fic does get into the details of the violent scene a bit more, but it's not super-gory or anything.

Overall, this isn't anywhere near 'super gory horror cupcakes' dark, but it isn't light and cheery either. I hope that all makes sense, and whether you choose to read it or not, I thank you for stopping by. :)
