A good reboot of the previous story. The only thing I would like to see clarified is the use of the word power. Are you referring to electricity or telecommunications? I can see ponies use the word power since it's new to them and might not fully understand it but the main character is an expert and would use the correct term.

In all honesty? I can't blame Brandon. He is one of those people where Family matters most, he didn't want to see the bad in his own family and it bit him in the ass. Luna knows I had that same situation so I know how he feels!
What makes this situation even more ironic? Equestria is supposed to be the land of "Friendship, Family and Love" It makes me think Lyra was just looking for a reason to Break up and this gave her an out, I am willing to bet 50 bits that she is a member of Equestria's version of Earths Hate Group and she joined shortly after getting back. Hell she might have even been given the task of taking this job for the sole purpose of sabotaging it!
I hope Brandon finds a good mare that will stick with him though thick and thin, make him happy too. I just hope his past doesn't get out to the public, much less the fact he attended one of those Rallies/Meetings as if it does it would ruin him Socially.
