Neat to see this here. Perhaps is a bit of an odd way to get Ranma to Equestria, but it's a fun story and I love seeing a younger Luna and Celestia doing anything. Fun story to build up off of. Look forward to reading more.

Hopefully very little, outside the first chapter almost all of this will be set on Equestria.
And I would recommend reading the manga over the Ranma anime. The first seasons of the anime was alright but the budget wasn't there and the characters get flanderized to a far larger extent.

Unfortunately the only manga readily available to me are random Naruto volumes with no seqential connevtion between them and special-ordered volumes of One Punch Man, of which I currently only have three, because they're $25 AUD each.
They actually offer, ever so slightly, less than the OPM anime, in regards to the main storyline, but offer shorts from during his training and some of the monsters and villains he fought before achieving his incredible strength, so they're worth it, and I do recommend them as an accompaniment to the anime.
A good premise, I look forward to seeing more of your story.
I hope ranma’s curse is still there in some fashion, I am uncertain if I what it to be human male, alicorn male or one of the three pony types male.

I honestly I wouldn't have picked Alicorn for Ranma or Akane, as he is more of a brute fighter then flinging so Earth Pony would have been my first pick, but it could be his form while as a stallion, so who knows, would be funny if the pony keep trying to treat him as a princess while in alicorn form. I hope there will be plenty of stallion fawning over her.
For the set up happeining in Equestria's distant pas would allow for a lot more leeways in what monsters he could encounter and isn't necessarily tided down to Ponyville and Canterlot.
Looking forward to the next installment.

I suggest going to your local library. Even if they don't have the Ranma 1/2 manga in stock, you can easily get the books on loan (shipped to your area) from another library. I did that myself to read the Detective Conan manga, because damn if there aren't a lot of volumes.

Oh, you have no idea.
I'm so stoked to see a new Ranma 1/2 fic. There aren't that many of them to begin with, and I think only one is currently updating on this site... And this one will be especially unique due to it being set so far in the past. I'll be curious to see just how Ranma changes things as the story goes on. And especially so to see how he interacts with the sisters. Maybe he can keep the schism between them from happening?
Also, poor Ranma. No matter what, life just seems to enjoy kicking his teeth in doesn't it?

Uhm...exCUSE you?!!?!?!??! More Ranmafics have been lost than most other fandoms introduce in their entire run. The entire subgenre of fanfiction called Time Loops (including the legendary MLP Time Loops) started in the Ranma fandom. Seriously, finding some of the "must reads" of Ranmafics is more like doing an archaeological dig than a Google search. The Fukufic as a subgenre came out of just one of the crossover universes that the Ranma-verse got mixed up with. Ranma has been a Time Lord, a Senshi, and Magic Knight, a Starfleet officer, a Romulan, a Spiderman/woman...
Oh, and don't get too cocky about your level of dedication to Pony, the first ever Ranma 1/2 crossover with My Little Pony was a G1 crossover called Ranma's Little Pony, first written in 2001.

The anime is ok but has a ton of filler, the manga is more enjoyable over all. To enjoy ranma fanfiction it helps to have a base idea of the material but isn't necessary. Reading the first manga is a pretty good overview and a fun read. You could just read the entry on a few of the main character on the Wiki and get the jist though.

Well, plenty of good points here but... I misspoke regarding there not being many Ranma 1/2 fics, I'm well aware that there are a lot of them out there. I meant that there aren't that many Ranma fics here on fimfiction.
Though I'll thank you for the list of good stories you posted, they're certainly something I'll have to look into. Coming from a rather poor country family, I didn't get a computer/internet until 2007, and didn't even know what fanfiction was until 2010. As such, I missed out on a lot of the earlier Ranma classics. So I'm gonna be going relic hunting it would appear. I'll be curious to see how good some of them are.
Lastly, Church of Ukyo here. I can attest that okonomiyaki is delicious. And her accent is just so darn adorable.

Well I didn't want to completely overwhelm them.
As far as "The Bet" goes, my opinion is that it was flame-bait that was taken too seriously am is only really notable for it's agent on the fandom than its actual merits as a story.

Ah, thanks for the clarification; I suspect the primary reason for the lack of Response.5 crossover or fusion is simply the overwhelming excess of magic in MLP, versus it's relative scarcity in Ranma 1/2. Kinda hard to tell a story about a kid with a magical curse when you've probably got so many ways to mitigate curse effects that they seen as magical maladies no more serious than the common cold.
While I certainly don't know too much of the Ranma lore, I know enough for you to have caught my interest. Setting the story so early in Celestia and Luna's lives was unexpected.

Shampoo - Would expect Ranma to go back to her village and completely change himself to fit Chinese Amazon mores. Plus, Ranma would ultimately have to kill Mousse, or be killed by him.
Kodachi - She crazy. Enough said.
Akane - Miss Rage Disorder herself. Untreated mental problems from her mother's death have left her with a tendency to lash out at things. Normally the thing she lashes out at is Ranma. She denies their betrothal on a daily basis and assumes the worst of him, calling him a pervert because of his curse, and violently attacking him whenever he gets approached by another girl, assuming he enjoys it, when the slightest amount of observation shows he does not. Classic Tsundere.
Ukyo - A childhood friend and the only one where an actual dowry was exchanged. More importantly, she actually seems to care about Ranma, rather than about having him or controlling him. She is obsessed with her craft, and would undoubtely want running an okonomiyaki restaurant to be a big part of their lives together, but I think after all the crazy, being able to settle down in one place and enjoy a quiet life might be something Ranma would want.
I'd have thought that Ramna would pick up the purely physical skills like flying very quickly. As for magic, he learned ki techniques from a scroll. If he thinks of magic as an energy flow like ki, he should be able to learn it much faster.

The Bet was really just a fun way to think about alternative universes and created fun plot bunnies. Hard to overstate how influential to fanfic in general the idea was. Same with time loops. Same with the ranma anime addventure site (may it rest in peace).

I rather like that Ranma is trapped as a female. Most fanfiction featuring her only play lip service to the curse, barely ever having her spend any story time as a female. For me, it is the most important thing to address in a fanfiction. WIthout the curse, Ranma is just another anime martial artist. And her dealing with female issues seems a worthy goal for fan fiction.
But then the whole reason I even started watching the show, was the synopsis on the back of the video box that explained Ranma was a gender shifter. I always wished the manga had devoted a few story arcs to the difference between Ranma's genders.
I wanna see Ranma begin to be called sister by Celly and Luna. Further I have to wonder will Ranma being there be able to keep the whole Nightmare Moon event from happening?

Or perhaps there is no longer any jusenkyo effect because all that magic has been absorbed into one being? Locking anyone affected but such a curse in whatever form they were in at the time. Which may or may not have screwed over a lot of people back on Earth.
