See, there's this grimdark story called "The Rainbow Factory." Basically, it's about how rainbows are made out of ponies. It's reached a level of infamy similar to Cupcakes, so now whenever the rainbow factory is mentioned, everyone thinks "Oh, it's based on that fic."

Please keep this up. I was afraid this was going to be grimdark when read it. Thank you for making this story. Like one person said before me: this is like the show and a breath of fresh air. For me, grimdark only works as a suspense novel or thriller, rainbow factory and cupcakes do not work in the slightest and in fact are complete utter rubbish. They are not structured well, they are not written well and I can't stand reading them. They are the pinnacle of bad taste in writing, and so many follow their example so poorly in fact, making them even worse than their predecessors. In closing, I have yet to meet a grimdark story that actually works very well.
