Back in 2013 or so, before I did my other MLP stories, I wrote up a few stories in an original setting I called simply G5. This is the 'Pilot' of that series.

Set within the Pony Kingdom, we focus on Horseshoes, an earth pony hoping to become a Knight, and Razzle Dazzle, the timid student of Hocus Pocus, a powerful mage with the title of 'Master Merlin'. In this inaugral adventure, the pair must battle a powerful foe, a mysterious entity known only as The Harvester, and what he harvests....are ponies.

I don't get it myself

Does Horseshoes wear nail-on horseshoes? Kind of a curiosity question here, given her name.

the cover image is of Horseshoes. the gold things are her horseshoes. They're basically big gold boots, no nails. Useful for combat.

in the game series 'quest for glory' razzel dazzel root beer was a cheat code in one of the early games, and its referenced in a later game as having been a flavor named for the eccentric wizard that serves as your rather comedic gandalf equivalent in the game series (Erasmus' razzle dazzle root beer, the joke as pointed out however by the wizards talking rat familiar is that the company makeing it went bankrupt soon after this is both a jab at Erasmus tastes, and the fact the code only worked in the first version of the first game in the series.)

I seee! well I never played that game! o3o I might think of referencing it later though if I decide to continue this series
