Epilogue
-Seven Months Later-
Gallus shifted from claw to claw, nerves eating away at his thoughts. Sitting atop the Canterlot Cliff Park (as it had recently been officially designated,) the gryphon was awaiting the arrival of Silvertream, courtesy of the Discord express. The site of numerous dates, the cliffside outcroppings were a nice peaceful area to collect his thoughts, or spend time with the one he loved the most.
Ugh, this is up there with anxiety inducing activities…like running from a psycho monkey.
Buuuut I’d say this is going to go much better.
It had been months in planning after all. Everyone was starting to finish up the friendship school lessons and enroll in the newly created university- and it had been easy enough for Gallus to slip away for a few days here and there.
To the gryphon’s eternal relief, his visit to Seaquestria and Mount Aris had been brief and simple.
I mean, Queen Novo simply laughed and said yes, and then Silverstream’s parents…
Gallus couldn’t help but smile at the memory a month ago- Sky Beak and Ocean Flow having laughed and promptly given him a hug, the pair then gaining some composure and shaking his claws with a firm ‘yes, of course,’ answer to his question.
Even Terramar had given him the claws-up on it.
And I know what Silver will say, yet I’m anxious all the same.
It’s almost like it’s a huge life altering thing. Who knew?
Despite the nerves, just the thought of being with Silverstream for any period of time was enough to make Gallus smile. He had meant to bring up the topic for a while, but there was never a good time to bring up the topic, not without just asking.
Gallus couldn’t help but smile- seeing some pink bubbles appear in front of him. He had asked Discord to send a warning before teleporting Silverstream, so this must be it.
I can’t believe the God of Chaos started to cry when I asked him to be one of my best creatures. Gyld, Sandbar and Discord…
“Heya Gallus!” Silverstream crowed, quickly wrapping up her favorite gryphon in a hug as she appeared with a flurry of pink bubbles.
“Hello to you too.” He chuckled, giving her a kiss and gesturing around.
“I brought some Pish, and thought we could just relax up here for a bit.”
“Sounds great!”
So far so good…
Gallus retrieved the pieces of food, then unfolded a large poster-board question mark, nearly the size of his torso. Placing the item next to the basket, the Knight then continued to get out the food as though nothing was out of the ordinary.
Stupid claws. Stop shaking.
“Uh, Gallus? What’s this?” Silver asked, head tilting to the side as she looked at the large symbol.
Gallus couldn’t help but smile nervously, a lump in his throat rising as Silverstream drew a quick breath.
“W-wait. A b-big q-question…”
Retrieving a small wooden box from the bottom of the basket, Gallus looked up at the teary hippogriff, his own vision starting to blur.
“I always meant to bring it up, but never could think of how, other than just…this.” The Knight whispered, seeing Silverstream start to sniffle.
“I j-just hope your answer hasn’t changed in all these months. Silverstream?”
Gallus opened the box, revealing a silver ring, a crystal seashell with feather patterns glimmering within. His own eyes watered at seeing a similarly teary gaze brimming with love looking back at him.
“Will you marry me?”
The gryphon barely had time to hold onto the box as a pink blur tackled him, making Gallus’ entire face light up with a loving and ecstatic kiss. In-between kisses, Silverstream’s joyous reply rang off the mountains and echoed to the skies above as the sunlight peeked through the clouds.
“YES!”

This was a GOOD story. I like how you managed to fit in romance and lore, and the result was pretty neat (as chadisbomb named it, “Florf”).
There were some parts where I was wondering “Wait, what’s going on?”, but that’s either me reading fast, or just my low-knowledge of bigger words.
I’m happy with this story, and I gotta say, Gallus has changed a lot.

I'm leaving that open to imagination, especially since it would take place after another four to six months. (Far into the next story along this timeline.) It would be adorable, but just didn't feel right.
I don't usually comment on stuff online, but I feel like this one deserves it.
This story and its prequel are fantastic and I loved every moment. The slice of life chapters, with their fluffy romance and superb dialogue, were my favourite ones and, in my opinion, your specialty, but the adventure arc in this one blew my expectations; the kidnapping was very surprising – not at all what I was expecting from the previous chapters' foreshadowing – the escape from the tower was stressful (the good kind of stressful =P) and the entire jungle stealth mission was equal parts comfy and thrilling.
If there's any advice I would give you, it would just be to write more. There are a few grammar mistakes here and there and, like one commenter said above, some parts are a bit confusing on first read (to elaborate, the main one for me was when Gallus or Silverstream would speak two times back-to-back and I was expecting the second line to come from the other one – this and other such problems would probably be fixed by double spacing when a different character speaks). These kinks are few and far between, and will eventually be ironed out the more you write and perfect the English language. That being said, the style and subject of your writing and dialogue are so addictive that the grammar nazi in me simply surrendered.

While I am honored that my writing is able to suppress your inner grammar nazi, by all means feel free to point out mistakes. Since I do my own editing, a mistake is easy to miss- especially if I don't recognize it as such! (Case in point, the spacing out of dialogue. I was totally clueless! I am actually intent on taking a writing course within the next month or two to get some more professional feedback)
I'm quite tickled that the mistakes were able to be overlooked in lieu of the story- but I do constantly want to improve.
-Side effects of weaponized cuteness are not fully understood, but are long term and positive.
-It was a blast writing all their reactions- especially with couples and parents and such. Gallus underwent quite a transformation over the period of the two stories, but I still wanted his base personality to shine through!
-....I have no idea why it was not written out- FIXED!
The newest story is up and going- and apparently is liked (a very happy surprise for me, I might add.)
this was a wonderful story, worthy of praise and totally going into my favorites folder. I loved the premise, and the plot. I love griffons and hippogriff, so to see a good story with them as the main characters, It pleases me greatly. thank you sir.

I must say what a fantastic story. I read both stories under 48 hours, and they were absolutely amazing. I thought it might have been interesting if Gallus proposed after he got his metals. He could have had a bigger speech and all how its written is fantastic. So I must say fantastic writing and may the writing pen you have only create more stories.
