Although Chryssi wouldn’t be able to make a shield as strong as Shining and there are a lot more ponies intimately familiar with him considering he’s probably close friends with the other guards he’s been in squads with so Chryssi’s high-and-mighty attitude would have caused more alarms. This isn’t even considering the aspect of how hard it would be to kidnap and imprison a highly trained soldier vs infiltrate the personal guard of a relatively untrained and unknown princess Alicorn.

hmm never thought of that, so in the end it all boils down to, chrysalis fails at the second most important thing her race is able to do, fit in, no point in being able to shapeshift if you can't act the part you became, and chrysalis sucks at infiltration, she didn't even have her army disguised as griffons or something to incite a war, nope, just...have it all out in the open....
Interesting, I loved the tension between her and Cadence in the beginning. This definitely has the legs to get some more chapters, considering how calculating the character is.

The concept for this story is good, and I’m glad to see you’re trying to write something original. Princess Blueblood’s character is spot-on, and her tendency to manipulate is enjoyable to read.
The miss for me on this story is the way you characterized Shining and Cadence; and the swearing, ponies who swear profusely tends to leave a bad taste in my mouth, and it makes them look incredibly OOC. I don’t think Shining would cave as easily as he did. He’s kind of painted as a dunce in this story.
It’s not bad, but it’s not your best, either.

Maybe it's just my imagination, but I don't think she actually took her underwear off, which leads to the cleaning up, but not necessarily the cleaning out, where she just put her underwear back in place before leaving...

And he's even more of a dunce for not realizing that as the Princess of Love, Cadance could very easily just keep him convinced that the love he feels for her is real, when it actually might be fake.
