This story is a sequel to Fighting to the Top

After meeting at the Interregional Fencing Tournament, Sunset drew Marionette into everything she did with her friends. They sang, watched movies, studied, and talked about the last season of Match of Crowns. Summer was short, and soon it'd be time for them to split up and find their future at college.

But tonight would not be a night for the group. Marionette had helped Sunset see a clear path ahead of her. As thanks tonight, it would just be the two of them.

But tonight would not be a night the group.

Interesting start. Nothing too fancy, but I was interested by the idea of the burger place Marionette took Sunset too. (Seeing Sunset face hamburgers and certain meat products never gets old! XD)

Pretty good stuff. I quite liked the relationship between Sunset and Marionette. The ending was especially well done.

"This was your idea, I want to do it." Except, Sunset wasn't sure if she could even stomach it. Lab-grown or not, the burger she had just ordered still had meat, chemically identical in every way to the real deal. Just the idea resurfaced her deep-rooted appetite from her past. To humans, her lifestyle was a vegetarian one, but compared to her past in Equestria, it was only natural. But this thing she was about it eat, it seemed the total opposite.

Surprised she has yet told marionette she's a vegetarian.

"Went with my dad on our two hundred and twelfth jump just last week," she said, pulling out her phone to show a recording that her mom took from the cliffs they jumped from. "Third time I've done it with a wingsuit."

If I was to do that I'd immeaditly want to pass since I have a fear of heights.

"A few here and there around the city," Sunset said, rubbing the back over her neck. "But, some of them are technically vandalism, so they're probably painted over by now."

Wait, did she tell her she's flanky?

They slowed, turning into the yard. "You wanted to see my best work," Sunset answered her. "It's here. This side of the train yard used to be for freight trains. But when the city finished building the mag-rails, this became prime real estate for my murals."

Makes since why she's do it there, graffiti is common to see on freight cars behind freight trains.

Sunset followed her gesture, but let her words hanging in the air for a while. "Not anywhere near here," she answered.

It's probably equestria probably,

Marionette rolled her eyes. "Typical. That's for land animals. The peregrine falcon's stoop is faster than any other bird. The highest recorded speed is 240 miles per hour."

Huh, that's very interesting.

Marionette pulled aside the curtains and there, a little dusty, were just more graffiti. Flames of green over dead trees, a purple star watching over the scene, the grizzly sight was nothing like the rest of Sunset's artwork.

Now I see why she didn't want her to see it.

Sunset sat down beside her. "Then I guess we're the same. If it wasn't for you, I think I'd be packing my bags for the portal when summer ends."

Wow, I didn't expect that one coming.

"I get it," Marionette giggled. "Your friends don't like being away from you. Neither do I. They're probably worried about leaving CHS too. I think you'd all feel better if you talked to them."

Yep they'll so have a lot to say to Sunset once they find out.

"Thanks," Marionette said, "for tonight. It was really nice, I achieved my childhood dream of meeting an alien from another world."

lol

I wonder what Sunset would think of the new plant-based meats we have now.

Wow, I had no idea this had a "new" chapter. Well done
