Orbiting Kettle

I've roasted a wealth of exotic things, All torn to ribbons at the hands of kings. Polished copper how I proudly shone, stealin' the fire of the blazing sun.

Rover digs. Rover lifts heavy stuff. Rover gets yelled at. And on weekend nights, Rover snarls at the world and jumps into the mosh-pit.

The world may change, but not everything within does. An excellent look at an underbelly that didn't get any less seedy with the addition of magic.

And Rover isn't even all that bad a guy. In the story he actually does something nice. He's just a knucklehead.

You really captured the magic of mosh pits. Great story.

Nor does everyone get equal chances. At least not at the beginning.

People rarely are all bad. He's just angry because, among other personal issues, he also got the short straw.

Thank you. And in a world with magic, mosh-pits become the closest thing to "exciting geology" you can observe without leveling communities.

Woah, did not expect a Oversat. story from an author who never had anything in Group Precipitation! ... Cool nonetheless!

And that is an amazingly nice thing he did!

I read the comments before the story, and wow. "exciting geology". OMG, yes! ... Wonder how Maud would react to the mosh pit, and if they'd connect over their shared appreciation of geology...

And just noticed how there's no dialogue! It's all elided! Cool!

Hmm... Have we ever seen a female Diamond Dog, in any story? I don't remember seeing any, in any story I've read... But that's memory...

We hear of his father... But not his mother... Hmm...

The return to the status quo is saddening, but at least it's not a too bad status quo?

Well, I've been reading the stories set in the 'verse, for a while, and I lurked in the group for some time now.

As for the status quo, well, it could be worse. It not being bad is fully dependent on the point of view,

Awwwww!

What a sweet little story. Full of love for a digger dog! No comment on whether I am drunk right now. :twilightblush:
