Queen Novo banishes Twilight and her friends to the deepest reaches of the ocean. In this dark and desolate place of water and silence, giving in to one's animal instincts seems like the obvious course of action.
Thus Spike awakens, trapped and alone in an unfamiliar place. But as he quickly learns, it's a lot worse than that.

Follow up question were they all normal fish or merponies because of a giant version of the black swallower would be even more terrifying.

That's probably for the best it would make more sense as to why they lost their minds so fast and a giant version of that fish would be terrifying I mean killer whales could be swallowed whole if it was resized to a pony.

I have some notion of how that might go.
A mysterious scaled equine... creature with a smooth opalescent stone in its barrel fixed a deadpan stare on Novo, who watched in horror.
"You really should have thrown them back to the shore," he said with a mouth full of sharp teeth. "Now there's a chance they'll start coming after your people."
"I didn't think they'd go so feral!," Novo rebuffed.
"That's your problem now, regrettably," the mysterious creature said. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a broken-horned unicorn to detain, a staff to steal, a message to rehearse about why Celestia's star student isn't going to be coming back to her, and a whole co-species educational system to devise without the assistance of our Princess of Friendship. Good day to you, Queen Novo."
Then the mysterious sea creature swam off, leaving Novo to watch as Twilight ripped apart her former friends.
I don't know how I feel about this story, I hate it, it's sad, it's dark, it's disturbing to even read it.
You can argue and say that it's my fault for going to the story, although I didn't expect it to be this dark, I came here from an audio video, I wasn't aware that any of this was going to happen.
I would like to know how people even enjoy reading this.
