Princess Celestia is Ember's favorite client. But when Celestia invites Ember out for tea to talk about something important, she brings up the topic of dating, and Ember can't help but fear that Celestia will stop seeing her.
Yes, I know, Ember is a dragon. Blame both Hasbro and me for using old Gen1 pony names for current characters. My Ember predates the one in the show considerably.
There are many, MANY instances in this human world where more than one person will share a common name. Why would Equestria be any different?
8748474 Well, so far we haven't seen one in the show! But I've had several comments lately with "but I thought Ember was a dragon, I don't get it, why is she a changeling?" so I thought I'd just head that one off at the pass.
But as she spoke, the anxious flavor coming from the princess changed sharply, from fear to something that was harder to name. It was still bitter, but contained a strong note of shock. "I... I..." Dar stood suddenly. "I can't do this. This was a bad idea. Asking your advice was a horrible, terrible idea. I'm so sorry."
This is so sweet! If this goes the way it looks to be going, I will be very pleased. But either way, I know I'll enjoy it — Celestia and Ember are a good combination. And I'm eager to read the next chapter.
An earth pony up and poofing out of existence with a burst of golden light? I hope nopony was paying much attention!
Also, Ember has yet to ask the one, most important question that she should. I mean, it's hard to advise on how to approach someone if you don't have an idea who they are, right? Right?
Also, also... Celestia really needs to hear Ember's story. Somehow, that seems important.
8748532 8748596 Ember was definitely barking up the wrong tree there, we'll say. Hopefully it doesn't come across as too much of a game of idiot ball. I kinda wanted to show that telempathy is not telepathy.
8748997 8748902 8748742 I am super glad that people are liking it so far and looking forward to the next part!
Hmmm... Methinks Celly is falling for Ember. Too bad Far beat got there first. Then again, I can't see him or Ember objecting to a third partner. Tracking.
I love it! Intriguing and exciting spiced with love and lust. Quite a wonderful start, which is all the more reason to look forward to the next chapter.
Neat continuation, I half-expected something like this. I'm hoping the story doesn't dance around 'who does she like' for too long and leans more toward how the relationship could actually work and evolve. They're both intelligent, and a series of misunderstands only goes so far before it becomes eye-rolling.
8749945 Ember's will never be complete, as Ember will always be helping more ponies. However each section of Ember's is a completed story, and this is a sequel to one in particular. I felt it should stand on its own because it's not about Ember's customers, so it doesn't really fit the theme of the main story.
An obvious plot, but damn if it isn't cute to see a nervous Celestia going after Ember. Your stories are always very cute and this one is no different.
I find it a little odd you didn't just add this plot line to the original story instead of making it a sequel but I see some of the reason why. The "prequel" did have a less fixed plot line while this seems to approach a more purposeful chain of events with a common theme. I still think they could have mixed well as an over arching plot that has other, smaller stories mixed in but regardless I intend to read them both until you deem them completed.
As a side note, you seem to be playing rather loose with your cards on who is the potential suitor in question but I've seen similar themes play out with quite a few surprises of their own. Don't let those annoyed by you "making it easy" get to you, I look forward to seeing what interesting twists your story has.
8750331 I don't mind if people guess or if it is obvious. My goal here isn't so much to surprise as just to tell a fun story. And hopefully set up a foundation for more future stories.
Heh, there's currently three David's and, at one time, seven permutations of "Karen" at work. Needless to say, it got confusing unless you used their department or the radio shorthand number for the management.
Hey author, it's fine. Two individuals can have the same name and the world won't end. If anyone complains tell them 401,718 Steves would like to say go fuck yourself.
Just voicing some thoughts out loud here... But who or what is Far in the Ember series? Right, he's her first relationship, and there's apparently love between them, but... he just feels like a very underdeveloped blank slate character to me. As the story is about Ember, that might be on purpose, and if so, that's fine. But if Ember suddenly starts going on about already having Far, I admit I'll be a bit peeved. Not because I think he's not a great guy or that their relationship can't be great, but because he just hasn't really been... there.
It's something I've thought about before too, and it made me think that the whole Ember story could work just as well without Far (minus those background chapters, of course), as he just hasn't added much to the story (to me).
That rant aside, I love reading your Celestia and Ember, and have been hoping for some more interaction between them ever since those earlier chapters. I can't wait to see where this is going.
Has anyone ever told you you draw great cover art?
8748050
Awww, thanks! (And I don't think anybody's said "cover art" specifically, no. )
Great stuff as always SPark!
8748071
Thank you!
Oh heck yes. The Celestia chapters of Ember's were far and away my favorites and I craved more. This is a real treat, SPark.

A lot of people seemed to like them. They're some of my favorite bits too!

Oh boy, Celestia is falling for Ember, isn't she?
Very relevant to my interests.
Tracked it so hard I think I left a dent.
And ouch, I think that "you can't keep seeing me forever" is going to sting.
This is so sweet! If this goes the way it looks to be going, I will be very pleased. But either way, I know I'll enjoy it — Celestia and Ember are a good combination. And I'm eager to read the next chapter.

I did all of the tracking.
AAAAASAAAAAAAAAAA
okay. Did I mention how pumped I am? Cause I’m pumped. This is gonna be great. It’s already great

Hooray more Ember! Though I'm a little confused. Ember's isnt marked complete... but this is a sequel?

yeah boo.
Agh, poor Celly!
Come back! She didn't mean it, she was just being professionals because she's a little low on the uptake/output ratio!
Oh, Far is gonna have *such* words, isn't he?
Only 2 episodes?!! First one was so good, but feels is going to end very soon and there’s lot of potential for more!
Thanks for sharing it btw

Gee. I wonder who Celestia wants to ask out?
I'm so excited to read more! Ember's is probably my favorite fic ever <3
There are plenty of names she could have called it: Carnal Therapy Centre. Dreams Come True. Sex Hive.
8752872
hm... Carnal Therapy... i like it!
Give give give give give more. I love the emotions!

I can't waiiiiiit for the next part!
And it's next week! (7 days even). Hooves crossed
Ah yes, the difference between levels of infatuation. It's her fault those embers were stoked!
