Dear Princess Celestia:

A while ago, I learned something new about daddy. He knows how to mane-style! And that's awesome!

Can you keep a secret, Princess? You gotta Pinkie Promise you'll keep it:

I actually like to do my mane. Mom has no idea, she thinks it is so not-cool, and at first, I thought the same. Now, I actually like it, because it is fun! There are so many styles and things to try, and of course, my mane makes it twenty percent cooler. I don't tell mommy because I'm afraid she might not like the idea. Do you imagine the daughter of the coolest mare in Equestria liking braids? I sure don't, and yet, I like them!

But then there's daddy. He wasn't surprised or shocked when I told him I liked him doing my mane. He actually seemed to enjoy it, and didn't hesitate to make me the (please don't tell mom I said this) prettiest bun for school. He promised to teach me how to do french braids this weekend, but I don't know how, since his mane isn't that long.

I'm very glad he did my mane for the play, you know? I never really appreciated daddy as much as he deserves it. He's so nice, and always willing to help... But I took him for granted. There are a few foals in my class whose daddies left and did not came came back, but mine has always been there for me, for mommy and my brothers. And I never thanked him for it.

Aunt Twilight always says we can't take anypony for granted, and that even if we don't think so, everypony is essential in other's lives. Now I get it. I wouldn't even be here if it weren't for daddy, and he takes care of our family no matter what. He makes us laugh with his silly jokes. He makes mom happy. He loves us.

So now, with you as my witness, I promise I'll be sure to give back all the love dad and mom give us. I promise I'll do my best to make them happy as they do for me.

In the meantime, I have to learn the basics of braiding.

Your loyal subject,
Rainbow Rain.

P.S: So, dad came in a few minutes ago and told me we'd ask mom if she could let us use her mane so I could practice, so, um, all that about mom not knowing? You can forget it. She actually took it very well! She was a little surprised, but brushed it off with a "Sure, if that makes you happy.". We'll have our first braiding session tomorrow after dinner and daddy will teach us both! I love we'll get to spend some time together, it's been a while! So, all in all, very excited for tomorrow. And very happy of my parents.

Author's Note:

So, this little continuation. Totally worth it.

Until next time!

~Midday Giggle.

First, the "mean" thing... Still that same little problem: when you use simple past and the auxiliary "do", it's the auxiliary "do" that takes the mark of the simple past. Like in:

and didn't hesitated to make me the (please don't tell mom I said this) prettiest bun for school.

it should be this : "[...]and didn't hesitate to make me [...]". But I haven't seen any other mispelling or grammatical errors which makes it better than any of my stories, long or short :rainbowlaugh:

Now, as for this little addition in itself... IT WAS SO DAMN CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE :rainbowkiss: Makes me want to hug Rainbow Rain like she was a plushie :rainbowkiss: And to picture Soarin and her practicing braids on Dashie, it's really, really, really cute too. I like it very much. Take a green thumb for that :raritywink:

AGH AGH WHY CAN'T I GET THAT THING ON MY SKULL :fluttershbad: Already corrected it, but oh my gosh, whyyyy. It's so embarrassing :twilightblush: Thank you a lot for reminding me that ONCE AGAIN because I always forget :facehoof:

And thank you! :pinkiehappy:

Aww, SoarinDash :raritywink:
This was such a cute read. Yeah, some spelling errors, but you turned a rather simple concept into a beautifully written story. Thumbs up from me

I practice braiding on my mom’s hair too lol
