I hope to see more of this universe.
Oh.. That was good. I thought this would be an AU where one of them was actually evil... Well played!
I’ve always loved magic and power style stories. I can confidently say this is the best I’ve seen.

I thought Fluttershy would more likely be the local druid rather than a squire.
Wonderful! I really enjoyed this story. And I also would love to read more about this universe.
That ship made me think of Monochromatic. Sunny Apple is novel, though.
A little glimpse in a world of sword and sorcery, one that is changing to a lesser magical level, it seems. It did make me think about one where the once dime a dozen become the legends of ages gone by. It's rather bittersweet.
This would be an interesting au I'd love to read more
I see from the comments on this that I'm not alone in wanting to see more of this.
As the others say, I would be interested in seeing more of this world.
For those of you interested in the last Twilight/Rarity bit, there's a whole one-shot series dedicated to a Queen/Princess Rarity and Guard Twilight shipping. It's written by the Lord of all things romance and TwiRarity, Monochromatic. His stories rip hearts apart – and put them back together – with ease, I should know, I've read them.
Here's the first one: The Queen's Secret Crush
Alternatively, you can see my bookshelf for it: Bodyguard!AU.
Nice one-shot, though I would have wanted to see a little more of the actual duel before we got to the world-building. Maybe another 500 or so words on that. But the fight placed itself easily into my mind's eye, and I very much enjoyed it.
Sunset/Applejack was a nice touch. I don't think I've seen that one before.
Wasn't sure I was originally gonna like loose but turns out I did.
This universe is cool. Would like to see more of it! Great work.
