The Party Pony

A great lover of military strategy, history, Firefly and ponies. Not necessarily in that order.

T

It's been seven years since Equestria's surrender in the disastrous Crystal Wars. Celestia has been banished to the sun for a thousand years, and Emperor Sombra rules from his iron throne in Canterlot. His hold on Equestria is tight, but on the far fringes of the his Empire, lawlessness still thrives.

After the defeat, Crystal War veteran Rainbow Dash is trying to make her way in this dark new world. Operating her small airship The Alicorn, she and her rag-tag crewmates will take any job, legal or not, to keep food on the table and fuel in the tanks. Sombra may have won the war, but he can't take the sky.

I have the feeling you came up with the premise watching firefly. XD

Sombra, my favorite antagonist, and Flim and Flam, my favorite con-artists.

What a time to be alive!

sorry I don't think that Sombra has the power to banish Celestia to the sun.

"May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one..."

I'll like and track for a bit

Don't worry, I plan on addressing that later.

I'm liking this so far

I freaking approve. Can't wait to see where this goes.

That's so heartbreaking. You can feel the slow climax, the hope and then the fall when she finally says, "it's over".

Looking forward to seeing where this goes. I enjoy that it's obviously a Firefly-inspired story, but one that still has it's own version of the narrative and isn't just a re-skin of Firefly. Out of curiosity, what are you looking for in a beta reader?

Wooooow!!:pinkiegasp::pinkiegasp:

This has got to be the single most faithful and unique fusion of both MLP and Firefly (or any crossover story, really) that I've ever come across! I really like how well you've changed but maintained the core characters traits and quirks while inserting them into such a devastating situation.

But now I'm REALLY curious about the aftermath of the war. Especially given Sombra's obsession with mind-control!! How could the group escape that fate when clearly about to be captured. And/Or WHY would Sombra allow any of his enemies to escape his mind-raping grasp? So many questions!

Needless to say, I'm VERY excited and interested about this story!!

Oooooooh, not THOSE TWO!!! :facehoof: Even though I knew they weren't going to be able to sell the cargo, it's still infuriating:flutterrage::raritydespair: that Rainbow Dash had to resort to working for those two conartists. In fact, I'd be surprised if they didn't/already sell out the crew as soon as they landed!:unsuresweetie:

YYYEEEAAAAHHHH!!!!:pinkiehappy: YOU GO, RAINBOW!! :rainbowdetermined2:SHOW THOSE PLOT HOLE ASSWIPES WHO'S BOSS!!!:twilightsmile:

As you might've guessed, seeing those two turned down was somewhat cathartic for me. But it seems that they're now heading from the frying pan and into the fire. Why am I not surprised that Starlight Glimmer still seems to be in control of a village? I wonder if she's still a magical tyrant with a hate-boner for cutie marks (probably)?

That was:rainbowderp:...AWESOME!!!:pinkiehappy::raritystarry: I'm really :heart:LOVING:heart: this story!

Okay, next...chap...ter.....

.....:rainbowhuh:

.....:rainbowhuh:

WHERE'S THE NEXT ONE?!?!?!?!?:flutterrage: Please tell me you didn't pull a Firefly!!:fluttercry: IE: shine bright, fade out, and abandon it all!! :facehoof:NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

You know, if it's alright with you., I may just decide to write my own version of this story in the future. Assuming you don't intend to return and finish your work.....
