I'll never forget you
Twilight knew it would happen, it had happened to her so many times, but she had always hoped the day would never come where it would be his turn, She had been there when Pinkie had gone, she had held Fluttershy's Hoof. she had Cried with Cadence when Shining had left. And she had spoken at both of her parents funerals. She hadn't been their for Rainbow and Apple Jack, and that would haunter her forever, and they had both said their farewell's to Rarity. and he himself had sent of Trixie and Starlight. He was the only one left, and now he was leaving her to.
"Are you comfortable Spike?" She asked, she had made sure he was laying on the softest thing in the world, it had cost her half of her massive fortune, but it had been worth it, all for him.
"I..I can't feel it Twilight" Spike struggled to say, his voice barley more than a whisper "are you still there Twilly?" he asked.
"I..i'm here Spike' Twilight said, trying to hold back her tears so she could say her goodbye "I*sniff* Its been so long. remember when we first went to ponyville, and we.....we.....we...."Twilight failed, the tears burst forth, she couldn't stop "Oh, Spike please don't leave me!!!! your all I have left" Twilight continued to cry on Spikes massive arm. Spike tried to look at her, but he couldn't muster the strength.
"Its...its all fading Twilight, I....I can't move anymore, my time's almost here." Spike looked forward and froze, he could see her. She had come for him.
"Spike" Starlight said, looking as young as she had when he had first met her "We've been waiting for you buddy, we've all been, there waiting for us to get there, are you ready to go?"
"I....I can see Starlight. Twilight....I Can see her, she's come to get me." Spike said, the joy of finally seeing his friend, after having to let her go, caused tears to stream out of his face. Twilight looked up, she could see nothing, but she could feel her, she could feel Starlight present in the room. Starlight looked at Twilight and shock her head sadly
"She can't come yet. Her time is not yet up, but can you tell her something for me"
"o....of course Starlight" Spike said
"Tell her they forgiver her, Tell her its not her fault, Rainbow and Apple Jack will always love her, Tell her I love her, tell her we all love her and can't wait to see her again." Spike turned to Twilight and gave her Starlights message.
Twilight didn't reply she couldn't, she was crying, she couldn;t stop sobbing into Spikes big hand.
"Pl...pl...please don't leave me. I'm not ready, stay with me Spike..just stay a little longer. please"
"I'm sorry Twilight. my time is up, and we both...." Spike started coughing, after a second he continued a little faster. "...we both knew this day was coming, I love you Twilight, I love you and I'll always love you, and I'll be there for you when your time finally come's, you won't be alone, I'll be there ready to bring you to all your friends, and your Family." Spike was huffing and wheezing now, straining to hang on for Twilight,
"I...I love you to Spike." Twilight said, giving him a kiss on his long nose, I'll always love you" she hugged his nose, but she felt it, he was gone, his last breath spent. He had left her, she was alone. then she heard it, a young voice she hadn't heard in thousands of years, the voice of her little baby Dragon.
"I'll be waiting for you" Spike said, looking at his body, he was his old self again, he was small and he was happy that he was. he gave Twilight one last look before turning around to face Starlight, who was wiping a tear from her eye, she levitated Spike onto her back and turned towards a bright light.
"I hope your ready" she said "Pinkie has been planing this Welcome party for almost 3 hundred years"
"Really?" Spike said as they walked into the light. leaving behind the place that had been his home for almost a millennia, leaving his body behind, leaving Twilight behind. And in a flash, he saw a sight he never though he would see again, Ponyville, the original ponyville, back before the castle, back before Twilight had been a Princess, the old Ponyville was in front of him. and so where all his friends. all ready to great him. All waiting to say hello to the friend that they had left thousands of years ago. the Main 6, Big Mac, Shining Armor, Capper, Trixie, the CMC, Granny Smith, even the recently departed Ember, and so many more were all waiting for him. Spike was finally home.
-back to Twilight-
She was sobbing, he was gone she was alone, she felt a hoof on her shoulder and turned to see Celestia, Luna, Flurry Heart and Cadance, she sniffed then cried into Celestias shoulder.
"He....he...he's gone." She said. Celestia looked at her, tears falling from her eyes as well as all the others.
"We should go" Celestia said, we should plan the funeral, but first lets make sure we give him the respect he deserves, he was a noble dragon, the best Dragon there ever was, his departure from this world will lay heavy on the hearts of hundreds to thousands of ponies and Dragons around the world." and with that they all stood up strait and paid their final respects to Spike.
"He was a Noble dragon, a true Friend when I was friendless" Luna said
"He was a great Uncle, I'll always love him" Flurry said, trying and failing to not fall to tears. Cadance failed to say anything, she had failed to even hide it, she was hugging her old friend and sobbing. Celestia looked at Spike and with tears in her eyes stated
"He was like a son to me, and I will never forget him, and I will always love him" and with a final sniff Twilight used her magic to close his eyes, and send him to his eternal rest.
"I'll never Forget you" Twilight sniffed "I promise"

The grammar, of course, needs fixing, but the idea itself saves the fic for me. Dragons live for a very long time, but to travel so far into the future that it's Spike time to go is very clever. You should be proud of yourself writing this little piece despite the prose—which is easy to improve over time.
Overall, I enjoyed this. Get yourself an editor, keep writing, and you'll improve before you know it.

I don't know if I should right another sad story, this one is still making me cry
Ignoring syntax, the concept of the story certainly has promise, though the execution of it is rather mediocre.
The emotion in this story is too forced and saturated, and it ultimately takes away from the story as a whole.
Perhaps if this story was more drawn out and expanded upon, then it would feel more complete instead of feeling ultimately rushed.

You do whatever you feel like, if you are finding it hard to write sad stories then try and go for a comedy, romance, adventure etc. But if you enjoy to write sad stories then go for it!! You could even do something like an adventure mixed with a dark storyline if you really want so it's not just all one category
