Many years ago I was murdered. Now I've risen from the grave I have only one goal: The death one the one that put me there. I'm going to find that white murderer, and when I do, I will slaughter her like she did to me.
There had better be a good reason why Celestia killed him, because right now, that's one of the story's huge weak points. Like, mind control or something, anything other than because having your protagonist hating and swearing at Celestia is 'cool'.
There had better be a good reason why Celestia killed him, because right now, that's one of the story's huge weak points. Like, mind control or something, anything other than because having your protagonist hating and swearing at Celestia is 'cool'.
It's not.
Is...is it coming across as that? As the swearing is me just trying to make him 'cool'? I...didn't intend that. As a rule I tend to have characters grow up in the same general area as I did. I don't know what it's like where you live, but here swearing is pretty much second nature, even casual conversation involves swearing. I never meant for it to seem edgy. That's the last thing I want!
And in case this seemed like I'm making fun of you or mocking you, I'm not. I know that text is hard to convey emotions but I don't mean any disrespect here. Like I said, I write what I know, and what I know is when someone gets angry they swear up a storm. I hope this helps clear up why he talks the way he does.
I myself have been a casual swearer for years, but I still occasionally find myself needing to reassure people that I mean no offense by it. To me, "profanity" is synonymous with "expletive", neither of them really mean anything in the traditional sense. And because I'm aware that the origins of many "bad" words boil down to things like "these words are seen as offensive because they originate from relatively poor areas, while their less offensive synonyms originate from rich ones", I'm far more open to ignoring my social conditioning and using them freely.
Of course, there are still some things that I find distasteful. Racial slurs in particular set me off hard. But other than things like that?
8467559 Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Voltaire's music, but I wouldn't use it as a fight song unless the character in question was batshit insane. Tommy here doesn't seem to be that far gone... yet.
"Hold it right there, monstrosities!" The white unicorn yelled, bringing up two swords in his magical grasp. "You will not take another step, nor spill another drop of innocent blood this day!" The others in the room were staring at him in surpirise. "As a member of the Canterlot nobility I know I am both overprivilidged and overaprricated for the lack of positive character I hold! Yet I will not let that continue this day! I will protect the innocents with my very life! I am a noble, a royal! My name is Blueblood and I will not let you take another life this day, demons!"
Oh hey, a nice Blueblood, don't see those often so
"Your studies were on Necromancy! It is forbidden! And for a good reason
Studying necromancy should not be forbbiden, because if someone had actually studied it, they might have been able to do something about the ravenous horde of undead that just went straigth through your defense in a few hours
"Doesn't look that way to me," Oh, dragon's going savage, "In fact this is downright foalish , what, did throwing a temper tantrum not get you enough attention?" He was just smirking the whole time. In the face of a zombie hoard.
GO SPIKE
"And I can't promise you that you'll live past that day." She shot back.
8466588 It's really less the swearing than Celestia's portrayal being really off. The whole situation feels very contrived, with her murdering him in cold blood and all, and apparently not having a good enough reason to explain herself. The swearing is more a byproduct of that, because Celestia has been set up to be a character supposed to be hated right from the start and her opponent, the OC, as the one to root for. Unless she has a really really really good reason for her actions, I'm assuming we're meant to see her as hypocritical, evil, and plain stupid.
I hate when Celestia was supposed to be killed for revenge but later they act like nothing happened. It's like a clickbait that tells that protagonist will get his revenge but never will, then why make it? So people will read more of the story just to read about revenge................that never happens
These stories die, probably people stopping reading after realizing it will never happen when it's treated like nothing like in the begging or too lightly or even everything is forgiven for some reason
9726077 That is not happening. He still wants revenge but he’s at least man enough to put revenge aside to stop a zombie army. He hates Celestia, that hate is not going away simply because they have to work together. And one of the big reasons he doesn’t kill her is because he couldn’t exactly work with the other princesses and whatever remains of the Royal Guard after gunning down their lead princess.
So, yeah. Those two hate each other, you don’t just get over being murderer.
Now it got exciting
Love it!
Kewl
Yeah. It's rare.
make more of savage Spike
Things got quite interesting
I will be honest with you, it would've been a lot better if he still couldn't speak.

You think that's badass? Listen to Voltaire's day of the dead.

The reason she acted like she did comes up in the next few chapters. There is a reason behind it.
Do they speak English in "What"?
what happened to this story?
An interesting new take on the displaced formula. 7/10.
Good enough for me. Kill thee some zombie bitches!

So what then?
Gun her down after finishing the necromancer?

I don’t really want to get into that too much as I tend to spoil the story without meaning to. But currently? That’s more or less the plan.
