Fall of Starfleet: Birth of An Apple

Feburary 14th, just a few months before the war of Conquest. Lighting discovers Applejack is missing from her post on this day and goes on a hunt for her. Everypony around him tells him to stay away and leave Applejack alone on this day of all days. What is important about this day and why is Applejack gone? Where did she run to?

The answers lie at the base of two tree entwined with each other and a rock that reads "PB + BM" and in the distant past.

Oh gods, the feels.
I haven't cried like this since Dinky: A Filly That Is Loved.
I'm most concerned for little Bloom. How did she cope so young, watching her mother torn apart like that.

We still don’t know what happened to her parents. At least my stories are absolutes.

Implying being a country gal and very macho is a flaw? How is it a flaw? It doesn't leave any detriments on her intelligence or manner, it's just culture and upbringing.
Dear gods, the broken-arse moral spectrum of these guys. You ask why they're flat as cardboard. It seems any personality whatsoever is going to get ridiculed.

I am impressed at how far Applejack's become.
She really does cry a lot on the inside.

Fall of Starfleet is the main fic where this story comes from. It details the war between the mane six vs a dark evil while having to fight against an evil government that shuns their ideals.

Oh! I remember a phrase from I book I have to read again ("Paula" by Isabel Allende) that goes like this "The deeper the wound the more private the pain" and Abigail Jaqueline fits this quote with perfection considering she cries on the inside....
