With a tired mind did the white unicorn walk down the dank corridor. His golden armor, plated, light and snug, clinked in the dark. The bronze bastard sword rocked back and forth in its sheath in lockstep with his movement, striking the royal purple fabric, which weaved comfortably beneath the armor, near the base of his two-toned blue tail, and neath his golden saddle. His helmet, golden with the same purple painted, was held fastened to his side on his peytral of similar color, which displayed his crest: a purple shield, encrusted with a pink six-pointed star. All the signs of an impeccable status.

Ooo...I think I'm going to like this story... :pinkiehappy:

"Never been around snow before, Your Highness?" the lieutenant asked?

I find the second question mark after the dialogue tag to be perplexing. :applejackunsure:

Edit: I set this story to read it later list for when I get the chance to read it in more detail.

I knew I had missed something. Fixed. :twilightsheepish:

Upvote for winged hussars, as always. :moustache:

Teehee, I think it's awesome how we Dudes congregated to the same story. :trollestia:

That was pretty cool. Never seen the Winged Hussars in this scenario before. Not bad.

From this:

"Equestria is on its way, one way or another," he stated. "I don't expect you to route our enemy tonight. I don't expect you slay them, nor do I expect you to not get hurt. All I can expect from you, all I can desire from you—all you need to do—is to stand, bravely, and hold them back. Hold them away from the wall. Hold them away from your loved ones. Long enough for Equestria to relieve us!"

To here:

"Nice speech, Your Highness." Flash saluted.

I couldn't agree more. I really liked the speech here; it feels very closely related to something you would hear in Game of Thrones. Did you pull inspiration from it, or from other military speeches? :pinkiehappy:

I'll continue reading later. I have company over now. I wish I could have finished this in one sitting, but it seems like I have to spread out this reading to multiple sessions.

A little nod to Tyrion's speech at the Battle of Blackwater. :moustache:

Knew it! :rainbowlaugh:

That series is so awesome. :raritystarry:

From the thumbnail in the story suggestions I thought it was a University of Wisconsin flag.

Ahhhh, where would we be without the Polish Winged Hussars? :rainbowdetermined2:

Eh, I think we would all be speaking Turkish right now if not for them
